Sorry for my faults in this text, but I don’t speek English very well.
I LOVE Topgear! I watch it every Friday on Veronica. It’s so funny and when I had a tuff day, it cheers me up! I realy like cars very much. Also I think that Ferrari’s are the most beutiful cars in the world! Last Friday I saw one of the best episode! With a beautiful Dutch car. Next day I said to my daddey that afetr dikes and windmills this the most brilliant ??? we made! ( I really like your faces when you three lost a game! So… Funny!!!)

Sorry for my faults and I hope that you gonna make much more nice episodes!

    Hey Dutch topgear lover,

The sad thing about watching top gear on veronica is that they don’t show the entire episode. There is about 10-15 minutes missing from the original episode. I don’t know how well you understand english or can read it, but if you can, it’s more fun to watch it on the bbc. Almost everyone in the Netherlands can recieve this. Sunday’s at 21.00 (new series from 2nd november!)

    Hey,

    Groetjes

I lost it in the best way. Very nice.

Congrats to Team Top Gear for their victory over the Germans. It was a top notch competition from beginning to end.

The whole event just shows that cars are a univeral language. It didn’t matter that most of it was in German, and they were clearly wrong on absolutely everything, the petrolheadyness (is that a word? eh.) still shone through. Every moment was a prime example of why Top Gear challenges are so damn good.

There should definatly be a rematch. Or maybe a similar stunt with Top Gear Australia.

The Top Gear episode is very likely the best hour I ever spent in front of a TV. Rematch please, although the only thing that could probably top this is a TG UK/US/AUS vs. Best Motoring/D MOTOR war. Nice to see the German version, not quite as funny but still very entertaining.

That last race wasn’t exactly fair, as ‘James Stigson’ was driving an Aston Martin DBR9, which competes in the higher GT1 class, versus the GT2 class of the Porsche GT3-RSR. Still, brilliant stuff, I was laughing the entire time.

I absolutely loved this challenge! I reckon once the overseas versions of Top Gear are more established maybe there could be a competition between them all. It would be great to see the different incarnations of Top Gear battling it out for overall glory!

Nice to see things from the German point of view, though… I had wondered if there had been two endings filmed so that each country could watch their presenters be victorious, but it’s nice to know that Top Gear truly did triumph.

Can’t wait for the next series!

    Hey

Just wanted to say that even if I’m clearly sure that stiggy is unbeatable (not a human being) his car is largely better than tim schrik’s one. The DBR9S is in the top 3 of fia GT3. And the porscher is standing low in the belgian GT championship.

But more of that, the Aston is part of a french team with 2 french drivers. How could you take a car which has been driven by french people :-) . And the porscher is from Belgium too. All French speaking people. what a pity :-D

well that was so funny even on the german size.

As for the German reaction…we know we are better so no arguing necessary.

And over Britain the Luftwaffe shot more British fighters down than they did…by a mile – over 1000 vs. 870. Even though the only thing they had to do was fly their shoddy 20 minute sorties over friendly territory with radar advance warnings.

Maybe in the intro they should have tried to fly the Spitfire upside down…oh wait, snap!

Dan… Sadly, you have a point.
D Motor is by far the best motoring show on german television… which means that you only have to stifle a yawn while watching it. When you try to watch any other of the german car shows you’re going to die from boredom after 3 minutes. Or 30 seconds in some particularly nasty cases.
But D Motor is at least better than Fifth Gear…

Hey, BBC, there are some people here in Germany, who actually have some sense of humour and desperately wish that your i-player would work in Germany… Pleeeeaaaase…

I can’t believe the inanity of some of these comments. According to the above, the Germans never mention the war and don’t have a sense of humour, and a Porsche GT3 is a GT2 car (I mean seriously, the clue is in the name, people).

I could understand some of the slower readers missing the bulk of the war references had Carsten not stood saluting his own tank for the duration of the Mini challenge, and I suppose the 1966 jokes were bound to be lost on those whose parents hadn’t even been born yet, but honestly, if you haven’t got a developed-enough sense of humour to be able to recognise one in someone else, I have to wonder what led you to this website in the first place. Surely Top Gear is on way past your bedtime?

I’ve seen the Britain vs Germany episode on two stations- BBC proper, and BBC Canada. Why in the Canadian version did they change the music? When they arrive in the Spitfires, the original used the theme to the Battle of Britain- great stuff. But in the Canadian version the music is changed to something much more mellow, which i couldn’t recognize. Why would they do this? Anyone have any idea about this?
