Amidst all the excitement of sending the presenters off to Vietnam we seem to have forgotten to mention when the new series of Top Gear is actually back on the telly.
TV scheduling is of course a murky business, and one that’s largely out of the production team’s hands.
The BBC actually has dedicated scheduling people and they use a variety of techniques to decide when shows should be on air, often revolving around sacrificing a chicken and reading the entrails, throwing a variety of different sized fruits at a wall and seeing which ones stick or feeding a pile of DVDs to a cow and seeing which one gets pooed out first.
Although in fairness, all those things only happened when we let The Stig go on attachment to the scheduling department.
Anyway, the upshot is that Top Gear was going to be back on 26 October but then there turned out to be some sport on or something and as a result the new series will now start on Sunday 2 November.
So don’t move a muscle until then.
Actually you probably should move at least some muscles. Otherwise you’ll get really hungry and start to smell.

I mean series 11 had two big stories: GT-R and EVO X vs STI. I just don’t know what cars they might cover in the new series, but on the up side, it leaves plenty of time for the boys to do challenges and cock about. Can’t wait. Actually I’m glad that it starts on the 2nd (unless it gets changed again) because our town’s big firework display is on the 1st and I am planning on going to that. That now means I don’t have to make the decision of what to do out of going to the display which is going to cost me £6 for the tickets, then money for bus fair as well as whatever I spend on food, drink and if I have a go on the fair. Or stay at home and watch the BBC3 repeat.
So is the first or second episode going to start or finish with a bang then? If so, please don’t let Jezza near any firworks.

I have watched the Nissan GT-R video a couple of times now and if you watch the timer, it starts recording, it would appear as the car is passing the traffic lights on the left side of the track. At the end of the lap the timer stops when the car is just exiting the last right hand bend. Is it me or shouldn’t a lap start and finish at the same spot? This would add at least 1 second to the lap time, if not more.
