Anyway, we can’t give away too much of what’s coming up but suffice to one of the highlights will be a handy guide on how to beat the credit crunch if you’re looking for a high performance car, and it takes the form of a unique challenge for Jeremy, Richard and James.

The production team laid down the gauntlet, asking them to modify an existing car so it could lap the track as fast as a very specific – and very brisk – benchmark on the current power board. Only problem was, the boys had no idea what piece of second hand loveliness they’d be working with to achieve this aim. And when they found out they were dismayed to find it wasn’t exactly the sportiest car ever made.

Id say the porsh 911 will prob be the 9ff, o – 186mph in 17.6 seconds! two seconds quicker than a veyron from 125mph 186mph, sounds amazing too, but its no veyron the inside looks like a tartan prison cell and its probably gonna blow up every two minutes. The bugatti just does it so much better.

But by looking at the series 12 promo they have finally got their hands on a veyron around the track, i cant wait.

Topgear’s back. Yes. No, YES! Everything was boring the previous sunday’s, but topgear, sundays are priced up again!

I was lucky enough to be at the filming on Wednesday, and can say that the show is going to be AMAZING – my cheeks ached from laughing at the lorry driving challenge.

I also wanted to say that James, Jeremy and Richard are brilliant! There aren’t many TV show recordings where you get to speak to the presenters, and get pics with them. They get completely hounded in the break (guilty, sorry) and are so patient and polite and funny and nice to everyone, when I’m sure they’d rather sod off to the office and have a cup of tea!

They are total Legends!

I think it (Veyron) is going round the track, I recorded the clip & paused the bit with the Veyron (I know, sad) & it looks like the TG track. Hope so.

The old Stig (Black Stig) was Perry McCarthy, but everyone knows that because he admitted it and was axed. White Stig is Ben Collins, but they’ve had a few invitation stigs on the show, like Heiki Kovaleinen who drove the F1 car, and the skidoo jump was done by Dan Lang

Great to see the series back, Sundays arent the same without the TG Team. Looking forward to Top Gear dog being back on the screen. Wonder what challenges the guys are getting up to now… They should get an award for their comedy routines, well done for the award the other night.

Can anyone explain why the hell the new series isn’t being broadcast in HD? The finest thing ever shown on the BBC in HD has been Planet Earth – stunning cinematography of animals in their natural habitat. Surely Top Gear is simply the man made equivalent. Snow Leopard hunting prey in Bhutan = Ferrari Enzo powersliding in the alps. BBC snobbery strikes again.

A very good friend is a TV “fixer” in Cambodia that has helped the team with a challenge for the new season. In a recent email he mentioned that one of the chaps is “insane”, bet you can’t guess which?. Answers on a postcard to J Clarkson, TopGear, BBC, London! Watching the sneek preview of the new series i spotted, as i’m sure many others did, buses on a rally cross circuit. I was at Lyden Hill, racing the Ginetta Club Championship in early October and saw the remains of a few buses including a bendy one left to rot in the paddock, was that, perhaps, you lot?

I cant wait for the new series and congrats at the TV Awards last week.

How would they sell like hot cakes? I think they’d sell very well. And I’ve never seen anywhere that even sells hot cakes as far as I’m aware.

Stig is most likely a toca touring car driver, last series when they raced the germans, he cornered on the inside and brakesd late to get past the other driver, and as far as i know, only touring car drivers even dare to risk the car being smashed.

Maybe M, but F1 drivers try to outbreak each other all the time too.
We’ll never know who the Stig is until the person says it himself and gets himself killed off like black Stig.
That said, he did do a lap in the Renault F1 a few years ago so I guess he holds an FIA Super
License, which in turn makes it very well possible he is/was an F1 racer/testdriver…

When is it comming to BBC America? I love top gear, it is my favorite show period.

Does anyone know when Sundays show is going to be repeated? I taught it was on tonight @ 19:00 but looks like I was mistaken. Anybody have any ideas? And I don’t wnat to wait for DAVE unless I really have too.

Was great show again, the lorries I was laughing my ass off, clipping each other, but also that Volvo, hilarious! Showdown between de Lambo 560-4 and 997 GT2 was cool too, too bad Clarkson torched the laptime for the GT2, anybody out there know the time?
