Mark Wahlberg brought some Yank glitz to proceedings didn’t he? Bit too aggro to get a well quick lap though, but that’s got to be the best start The Mole’s ever seen, that one fingered salute.
But anyway, how was it for you?
James May’s time out with the Finns was fun, and sets him up well for his proper supercar around the track outing that’s coming up. The Mole thinks that Jeremy and Richard might be getting a bit worried about his new found speed.
And what of the meat shake? Thank goodness Jeremy’s not decided to market it as a healthy alternative to, what, beer? Yuk.
The tuning bit was good fun too. Not sure Jezza will get a job with an F1 team though, that splinter was pretty badly thought through!
Anyway, we’ve rattled on enough, so tell us what you thought…

great show love the car at the end unlucky guys!
I havent seen it yet!!
Absolutly great, though i wouldn’t want to be within 100 miles of that V8 blender, or that, ahem, “meat shake.”
Its Not iplayer yet, it was last week @ this time
Great show could’ve done with a proper car test, but still a great show.
top gear is the best i liked the V8 blender
Massively disappointed. No cars until 45 minutes in, and not one road test. Sorry, but I think that was rubbish.
well done with the tuning boys, proving once again that MDF is the universal problem solver!
Great, it was just great, MPH show on saturday, and then Top Gear on sunday. What a weekend!
hey trish
brilliant, random V8 food blender funny!!
sorry about the end though unlucky,
but great show otherwise
loved it!
I only liked the Renault challenge and the news.
Great show but my respect level for the Wahlberg has dropped considerably after he took Jezza’s advice NOT to down the smoothie.
I do like that car what tuneing up.
lol good episode! the schedule did however suggest that richard would drive the veritas sports car which he didnt :s
Excellent way to spend an hour
Jeremy’s sexy
hello, how long before they put it up on iPlayer??
I can’t really say there was anything I particularly disliked, the Aventime was fun, Marc Wahlberg was entertaining and May in Finland had some great grassroots racing, but where was any sort of car test? Each segment could have been part of a great episode, but none of them stood out enough to make it memorable.
when are we going to see the ZR1 again?
i wish i was on that show how can i be the audiance pless tell me
top gear is the best
Loved it brilliant as ever. Unlucky for James not winning his race in Finland and that V8 Corvette food blender thats insane ! Mark Wahlberg was ace and that Renault Avantime was amazing shame it couldnt beat the EVO X’s time. 10/10 look foward to next weeks show
Another 60 minutes or so wasted of my life.. But there is no better way wasting it
Excellent show boys!
hello, how long before they put it up on iPlayer?? how long
follow up:
How bout Stig takes the GTR to the nurburgring to see if Porsche has a point.
tell me how to be the audiance
Oh and Hammond in Japan when he rides round on the Toyota i-Real that was funny
Loved it
come on tell me
;]
Hmmmmmmm, dont know about the V8 smoothie maker. A bit too easy to forget that bit of the programm, other than that GREAT !
tell me
for “joe…” go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/topg ear/show/participate.shtm l
i think they should market the V8 blender to Dragon’s Den.. i can see a market for it in America!
Will they make a big one for fat people… i thought they already had tose rascal things! great stuff though guys.. keep it up!
why didn’t they use the Corvette V8 from the Studio??
that was a great episode today, especially when james tried that drink, his face after he tried it was priceless, made me laugh my boots off haha, jeremy should of tried it, was unfair just hammond and may trying, and captain slow might not be captain slow anymore after today and maybe his first supercar test drive review soon, i dont think hes captain slow anymore anyway even tho he sometimes is slow and gets overtaken or looses a drag race, but after he hit the top speed in a bugatti veyron couple series ago and was average in that race today hes no captain slow, hes captain brave now
the shows is great!,
keep up the good work clarkey, hampster and captain brave
great site too!
back to the studio haha
what a disappointment. the piece on the avantime was truely awful. anyone remember their jag that out dragged supercar exotica? or even their 330d racecar? of all the modification challenges, the avantime was easily the worst. i really wanted to see that car beat an evo and £9k would easily do it im sure. they just couldnt be bothered to try, instead setting out intentionally to fail. looking forward to the new series of fifth gear.
SUPER AGURI FOR THE WIN!!!!!
brilliant.
.. Can’t wait for the May Power test either!!!
good idea Twonius, keep up the good work Top Gear Team
I only got the last half hour of it, but what I saw was brilliant!! The guys trying to tune up the Renault was funny!!
MUST WATCH ALL OF IT ON IPLAYER!!!!!
Btw, Hammond in the waistcoat, WOAH!!!!
xxxxx
amazing show guys brilliant, James face after he tried the drink was priceless!!
and the dacia sandaro gag was halaious laughed so much though the whole show, and the “back to the studio” was just haaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa loved it all fantasic show, cant wait for the next ep and keep up the great work!
I’m loving Richard’s outfit!
That was something new and really cool!
saw all of it :L
was ok, need a big challenge guys!
like roadtrip (Y)
Great episode. Tuning bit at the end was great, as was James rallying. Don’t really like the celebrity plugs and they’ve had better guests. More stuff like the V8 blender!
I’m also glad they seem to have got rid of Top Gear Stuntman. It seemed a good idea on paper but never really worked.
Loving the outfit Hammond!
One thing – “sisu” represents endurance more than courage only. There is a point where most people have reached their limit for what they can endure, that can be the point where sisu helps the Finn to continue even further.
Good show, but you should have turbocharged the Avantime instead of big brakes… Thanks for not ruining a future classic. I was worried a while…
Great show as always, the Renault bit was a little dissapointing though, I could knock 5 seconds off that lap time without spending any more on it….
A bit meh I thought, slight dip in the excitement level…but a slightly poor Top Gear is by far better than the best of anything else!
Good work boys!
Not as good as last week but still great. I want that v8 to power my computer i would have the best and loudest PC ever. Keep up the good work, cant wait for next week
Brilliant as usual!
The V8 blender was HILARIOUS, real petrolhead stuff, useless, over the top, INSANE!
SO typicaly Clarcksons kinda contraption.
(and mine for that matter) :p
next week a lawnmower with a V8? …..and we put the Hamster on it to try it out :p
The whole “what? he’s gay?” thing was funny as hell aswell, infact the whole news section was.
to bad about the aventime, although I have mixed feelings about that section….whole thing just seemed a bit forced.
That was the most brilliant of the series so far.
But where’s the cool wall?
Very nice V8 blender. Loved James’ face after drinking the stuff. Brave man lol.
Am I the only one who thinks Richard was a bit jealous of Jeremy flirting with Will Young? *cough*Bromance*cough*
Keep up the good work guys. I see no reason for the nanny culture or the daily mail to complain about something Jeremy did this week.
P.S OMG James May running on telly?! lol
is there a way to watch topgear in portugal?
(like, instead of downloading it…)watch on tv?
Was a fine episode, although I thought Wahlberg is a bit of a tw*t.
That was insane.
It delivered everything needed in any programme. Cars, stars and a meat blender.
GREAT SHOW IN CAPITLE LETTER
Great show, but the interview was boring.
What was up with Hammond’s waistcoat + jeans look?
it was very very funny liked it alot!!!
I loved it, lets discuss POWER! haha typical Clarkson. i have to write an essay on top gear for my media work, its not as fun as i was thinknig lmao!
Cant wait for the Bus episode though, i think they should do another V8 engine idea everyweek to give this series its own tint, like they did with last series with the double stars in cars. (if they have done it b4 then i havnt seen it. not even on DAVE! lol!)
Was great though, James really is picking up speed
Absolutely BRILLIANT episode!! Loved the v8 powered food blender and the horrible fact that the presenters had to drink it
Mark was awesome in the reasonably priced car!! Proper bravery pushing it to the limit!!
Love the new outfit Richard, really suits you
Keep up the good work lads!!
Absolutely Bloody Marvellous! That kitchen segment was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on tv, ever!
Keep it going guys, TG just keeps on getting better and better.
I’ll let you know in 3 years when BBC America airs it.
Mark Wahlberg once beat a Vietnamese shopkeeper so badly in Boston, he lost an eye.
Mark Wahlberg’s a real nice guy……..
Can’t wait for the V8 stairlift:P
thought your lap time was poor really you had the wrong car to start with, it should of been an impreza turbo like mine.
i’ve tuned mine up and it’s quicker than the evo 10 and think it could go round your track just as quick if not quicker and i’ve not even spent £15000 on it. (budget car, supercar acceleration)
nice to see captain slow -or should it be captain fast- going fast again!
i love the new outfit Richard it really suits you, not so much that jacket in the news section though! But the waist-coat, jeans and shirt, brilliant, more of that please!
and jezza and the food mixer! LOL just wayyy to funny for anywords to say!
That was THE BEST episodes from the current series.
James your face after you had that ‘bloody awful’ smootie was classic! Also the scandinavian flick – well done you.
Richard LOVED your outfit, and when you asked if there was going to be one of those Toyota chair/cars for fat people.
Jeremy- Can you please make me one of those V8 smootie makers that was hilarious. Arriving in the Aston Martin – Thank you.
Great show guys – keep it up.
Amz Xxx.
Also please please please can you tell us what the bet is for you guys wearing those jackets? Xxx.
We got tonight (to an extent)a saner show after the CRAZY episodes in the last fortnight! James was brill with Mikka and if i’m mistaken, wasn’t Richard’s mobile chair filmed for the previous series, as was the touring car tribute?
Still, the homemade tuned car was GREAT to watch (i’m still amazed it beat the legendary Clio V6) and next week’s show should be great to watch now that they’ve FINALLY got a Veyron on the track! YAY
Hope it beats the Apollo!
good luck james with the super car test run and unluckey guys with the Renault cant wait for the v8 stairlift lol
like a said before brilliant show, mabey another hour long vidio ep -the specials i meen-because that was brilliant last time and the time before that and the all the times before that as well…
just a suggestion though,
brilliant show once again loved it
xxx
what was the song in the backround of the bit with mika? anyone….
That was very EVIL!!! when JC reved the v8 food blender with the poor inicent bucherd cow’s were blended in that way.I BLOODY HOPE YOU GO TO HELLLLLLLLLLLLL MISTER CLARKSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
brilliant it is the best show on tv
The show was as always brilliant. Can’t wait for next Sunday
Saw the lads at MPH Birmingham at 5 then got home to watch them at 8!!
Couldn’t ask for a better evening!
Good Show, V8 blender was totally random but FUNNY!
Oh whydid i just put that in’ look i’m 8 years old and could’t help it i’m very sory Jeremy Clarkson**.But dont do enything ever ever so horible again to animals even if it is dead just give it some respect please.
i’ll let you know in about….15 hrs :shifty
havnt seen it yet, it sucks to be an american, i gotta wait till its up on you tube.
I couldn’t stop laughing at the V8 blender!!!
That was ace!!!!
this show outlines exactly why i now prefer 5th gear.
Tonight I’ve come the terribly sad realisation that Top Gear isn’t the car programme made by car lovers FOR car lovers that it purports to be – and I’m absolutely gutted.
On this evenings show, Top Gears guest Mark Wahlberg told us all about his car stealing past with a little grin and a shade of pride at his “badboy” image. Meanwhile host Jeremy and audience listened on in vague silence.
Way-to-go Top Gear production team. Thanks for that. I love cars with a deep passion, and have always held Top Gear in high esteem as a program I can relate to. Now I find that more-often-than-not the guests are completely disinterested in cars, and then \bang/ – tonight we have a car thief in the guest seat.
Like many people in this country, I’ve had my car stolen. Maybe you have too. Was it nice? How did it make you feel? Did you think the guy or girl that took it was a badboy lovable rogue? No you didn’t, and neither did I.
Top Gear is a very special jewel in the BBC collection, and I think it’s a great, vast insult to the swarms of car-fans to invite a guy on to the show who happily tells us all about his car-stealing past.
Yes, yes people learn from mistakes, but hey, a car thief on Top Gear? You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s not good enough, and yet I’m forced via the licence fee to pay for it. Not good enough at all.
Come on Top Gear team, get the guests in the seat who deserve to be there. We want people who love cars, who have stories to tell about their cars. People that wouldn’t go around stealing other peoples cars. I’m absolutely gutted.
great episode
would’ve been nice if youd shown us wahlberg’s epic crashing though !!!
that V8 food blender bit had me in stitches, brilliant episode!
Pretty poor, I thought. Loved the blender, but it was a very ‘bits and pieces’ show – no continuity whatsoever.
May’s segment in Finland was excellent. The Finns have the driest sense of humour in the world, and I was v impressed by their driving test. Thought the Häkkinen gave excellent value. Top feller.
Another brilliant show, loved the blender and tuning the Renault. Shame people post stupid comments on this page. ‘Whens this show going to be on iplayer’ isn’t a comment on tonights program. Anyway, watch it on TV, it isn’t difficult.
Another great show guys… I wonder what May will be testing next week… trying to think which super cars have been recently released…
Oh, and JC – the cow blender thing? Genious. I’m afraid to say that I found the challenge a bit of a waste of time… seeing as you didn’t really achieve anything except waste your money. Still, it was entertaining to watch!
Keep up the good work!
Great show!!! Not as good as last week, but found the V8 blender hilarious!!! Can’t wait til next week!!!
:-/
All of the bits were good enough but it didn’t hang together very well IMO. James’s Finnish trip was particularly good and the V8 blender thing, though completely silly and pointless, was a hark back to the early days of “new” Top Gear. And yet the show was lacking something… what can it have been?
Oh, I know.
Cars.
I know TG isn’t purely a car show any more, but could we at least have *one* review in an episode, even if that episode is compiled from articles that didn’t necessarily fit anywhere else? Ah well, given how much I loved last week’s episode – which was very car-centric, much like episode 11:2 – I don’t mind that I didn’t enjoy this one quite so much. Please bring back some cars for next week.
The show was amazing! James is massively improving in his racing skills and it’s a true joy to behold!!! Well done, James!
The V8 Food Blender had me in tears, it was fantastic. I did see Jeremy didn’t taste it but Mr. Iron Stomach May was the first one to have some and that was remarkable (I mean the man has a stomach stronger than Gordon Ramsay, that has to be admired!!). His face however was priceless indeed! I loved it!
The Evo Challenge was fantastic, and I have to say I’m proud of the guys! Nice to see Steve pop up again!
And somehow again, James saves the day…. That servicing was about as good as your top quid can pay for!
Yes, yes, I have to say, this show was kept together by James this time around! Well done!
PS. I can’t wait to see more of the Fashion Statement Bets the guys seem to have going on!!
Can’t wait till the next one!
Remarkable work lads!
Lots of Love,
Fabienne
** just to add… I’m sure that you’ll get some complaints about the meat vender, though… I mean, it was a bit OTT and slightly random. Still, I think that using old car engines to power kitchen appliances is a great way to recycle old cars!
I remember for the trailer shown on Dave from last series that, that had Hamster driving that Toyota thing but this was before editing for this series. So was that cut from last series.
Hmmm…
Judging from above comments the divide between people who watch Top Gear for the cars and people who watch it for the comedy is widening…
I guess it just matters which brings in the most viewers…
Another Top Show from a set of Top Guys, congrats chaps, one of the funniest Top Gears I’ve seen for a long time.
Think that James must have a cast Iron constitution to have tasted that disgusting gunk that Jeremy made.
Does the Stig have something to be worried about? With James driving like he has been doing of late, perhaps so? Looking forward to the section of the show that is going to air that.
I want a V8 food blender.
As for some comments about Top Gear NOT being a car show anymore – so what? Its funny, entertaining and certainly brightens up my weekend. Its a lot better than some tripe that is on TV these days.
Love live the TG3.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
More cars please. >:(
That is all.
Quiet show this week methinks?
(apart from v8 blender)
That Avantime looked pretty cool though
That was cool.. in a different way to the Usa or Japan cool but still an original… I can never look at a v8 in the same way..(and counting my bessings I am allergic to meat).
Just waiting to see you top that
When are we gonna see zr1 again
Firstly, as boring as it probably sounds by now, it was a fantastic show last night in Birmingham. The long day was worth it.
Tonight’s show as always was brill, is it possible TG gets better and better?
Anyway enough of all this being nice stuff… I don’t like suck ups.
just watched the epi and can’t wait for next sunday – the guest was good mark walhberg was great he told of his past and look where he is at.
didn’t chris slater cause a problem in america bay having a police chase. and he said that on TG. way back.
the change from trying to get a car to be as fast as an evo x was a cool challange. mika hakkinen was someone good to see james may should of asked him what he thought of hamilton.
people under estimate top gear and the viewers it brings in. all good shows have ups and downs but thats what makes them even better.
Love that we are finally able to watch that the complete James, or a not just “captain slow” side of things…
is there gonna be a top gear award for the worst jacket this series great show tonite
Great episode, can’t wait to see a proper supercar review by James May.
you boys are great! a shame u failed on the renault, or lucky, because if u managed everybody would be driving that awfull looking car around everywhere! good work anyway!
V8 powered things is a bad idea. Awful.
Rest of the show was good, especially the Avantime-to-Evo bit.
I quite like all these dodgy jackets…is that wrong?
Bit disappointed tonight. Loved first two of the series but this one a bit out-of-tune. Please don’t do the generic hollywood promo stuff again. I’d much rather have a newsreader, comedian, reality show star or whatever who knows why they are there and wanted to come than “come to show the clip” promo. V8 blender was a good segment but somehow didn’t fit well with rest of show. Love the idea of tweaking up an old car to beat a new one, but why an Avantime and why vs an Evo. Never seemed close enough (or likely to be) to build any kind of tension. Still enjoyed the show but felt a little let down. Looking forward to next week.
the blender was awesome, and properly done too boot with a proper american V8.
The Finnish part with James was good.
The last 15 min was good. The episode was okay.
Loved tonight’s episode. I think James’ new nickname should be Captain Cast Iron Stomach. His faces when he tried that concoction were classic and had me cracking up.
I also loved the Finland segment. I thought May and Häkkinen made a great pair. Häkkinen’s face whilst James was driving had me in stitches and his face when James mentioned about the airvents. I thought he looked slightly scared there. James race description made me laugh too especially when he mentioned about the 12 year old, granddad, the house wife and especially “Bill Oddie”. I love whenever James is allowed to show what he is truly capable of.
Poor James when Jezza mentioned about him doing his very first ever track test, which I am looking forwards to and reacon that’s going to be a brilliant segment personally. Does this also mean that James will also be doing his first ever Stig intro and sole Stig commentary?
richard i want that jacket and HOW COOL was that waistcoat look!
Toyota i-wheel? Like a wheelchair, only more? It reminded me of the self-propelled chairs in Cold Lazarus, the half of the pair of television dramas written by Dennis Potter for his own epitaph that ended up on Channel 4.
That said …. the i-wheel would be much improved by a V8 engine and a Stig to drive it.
James May is no longer worthy of the “Captain Slow” moniker. Mr James May I dub thee “Captain Go!”
Great show this week chaps, shame about the pile of junk Renault you had to work with. If only the postulation was “any DECENT car could go as fast as a Evo”. And I was amazed that James was left to tinker with the engine and was capable of bringing it back up to 200+BHP.
Oh and for you folks not in the know, each week one of the guys have been wearing hideous clothing for a bet. I wonder if it was the STIG making the bets.
Yet more comments along the lines of ‘awesome, COOL!!’ ‘funny lol xxx’. I know there is no reason that this comment is any more valid than those in the vain just mentioned, and the chances of you even reading this are slim, but come on TopGear, you’re aiming the show at people with an IQ less than their age. It may get ratings, but so would naked girls and swearing.
I am so so so disappointed, and I expect there are many more like me who don’t air their views. TopGear is a CAR SHOW. I don’t care what car, fast or slow, expensive or cheap, big or small, is on the show, but please don’t cave in to the demands of the masses and keep making trash like today’s episode.
I have no evidence to base this on but I’m going to say it anyway: Eventually the people you are currently aiming at will move on when they get bored of explosions and celebs. You’ll lose them, and you won’t have the people that made TopGear a success in the first place, yes us; the car lovers, to fall back on; because we will have long gone.
Jeremy and Andy: You said you weren’t going to chase ratings, and I even heard a rumor you wanted the celeb stuff out and cars in or you’d quit. How true that is I don’t know, but if it is please think about what you love more; cars or the paycheck for caving in to ratings pressure.
Its Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrreat….
I’ll let you guys off this time but I want supercars next week – I need that kinda stuff in my life.
Thank-you very much for being the best thing on tv – ever!
totally agree with ape fight. 1 and 3rd episode in my view were disspointing. they had there moments and jokes but what happnd to topgear of the old. opening up with a fast car and then a race across europe in a supercar
we wana see topgear and cars so please bring back the magic, and stop the chessy jokes general chat as am sure people will start like me switching channels!
BBC america won’t show it yet here in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
Slightly weaker than the others in this series so far. Thought the V8 whilst funny, was a bit to random and Mark Wahlberg was being interviewed to long. On the other side James May in Finland was great and the Renault was cool, but would have liked to have seen abit more thatn listening to Mark Wahlberg. Still best program on a Sunday night and loving this series more than the last.
i love top gear!!!
Great show! I loved the V8 blender thing, very good…have to try that one day. =D And last week was great too. I didn’t think I’d like watching Will Young, I was getting ready to change channel for 10 minutes…But bloody hell, that was funny, Will actually knew something about cars, great, never thought I’d say this but, Will was one of the best guests TG has had, very funny. For moment, I though Jezza & Will were gonna make out haha
And great seeing Mika again, it was fantastic watching him throw that Merc about, nice.
But, Mark Wallyberger or whatever his name is, what an arrogant git. Waste of time. His driving style is as good as his acting….Cr*p. Certainly a “star” to forget about.
But apart from that, blo*dy great show. One of the best ones.
And what’s with Hamster & May wearing those….Weird jackets in the news section every week? haha
hold on!y is jezza ALWAYS gettin out of things,i.e the smoothie HE decided to make?He shud av bin the 1st one to drink it!hamster n capt not so slow anymore shud decide to gang up on him one of these days wich shud b a funny 1!Now,my other concern.is to the mole, who seed capt not so slow was gona race a boat in finland this sunday,WHERE WAS IT THEN?Was lookin forward to that race!c’mon mole, get ur facts properly next time plz, thx! As usualthe show was fun,but not as gud as last week n still wana c the full race btwin jezza n capt not so slow PLEASE!DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE THAT JEZZA DRINKS HIS OWN CONCOCTION ASAP,THX!Lookin forward to the next episode,c’mon sunday hurry up!
Great show!
Love Aventime! Especially Jezza’s idia with that splinter. But spoiler… I’m sorry, but you really thought that thing will improve the lap time? Rubbish.
Don’t like the Toyota thing. If we’ll use those, the Earth would end as a home for 7 billion fat, lazy jerks.
Also not sure about V8 thing…
But love the new wearing jacket on a bet stuff and looking forward to May’s Power Test.
Go Captain Slow!
May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track May ought to do more car tests on the TG track
I’d say the show was about average…. not a classic episode like the Arctic trip, both USA trips, the Japan race + the Bugatti race + the cars across the channel….. but still by far the best show on TV in current production.
The interview was better than some past ones.
The V8 powered food blender was one of the funniest stunts ever seen since Jeremy did similar kitchen stunts on his old chat show……. and also more the sort of thing you’d expect American comedian Tim Allen to do on his old sitcom “Home Improvement” (should maybe try get him on the show sometime, seeing as he’s mean’t to be a big petrolhead).
Can’t wait to see the V8 powered stairlift…. and reckon it’d go quite well if used to introduce “The Stig’s Grandmother” as a test pilot (stepping in with a zimmer frame, and all you see is an old codger in a Silver/Grey coloured racing overalls + helmet)…….. and send “her” crashing through the cool wall, out of the studio, and crashing into a Caravan that “just happened to be parked outside” to make it look like it went wrong, and “The Stig” having to be wrestled away from trying to attack Jeremy with a chair.
I’m having ZR1 withdrawals. Please bring back the beast Vette!
While you’re at it, how a proper test of another Yank supercar – the SSC Ultimate Aero. 1,183 horsepower and Guinness World Record holder of the Fastest Production Car in the world.
I thought the V8 blender was terrific. I love the idea!!!!
Hi! well, the episode in general was a 7.5 of 10, please put more “powerrr!” more supercars, more stunning views more extreme power roadtest!!!! EVO vs. GTR, Merc Sl65 vs Zonda, things like those would make your ratings go up incredibly… if that word exists… Best of Luck!! make it a 10 / 10 next week!!!
Normally the lack of cars on the programme would have made me cringe and kick-started the “PC-Nazi” in me. But not this episode. I personally find that it has gone down pretty well.
I believe the Toyota i-Real was featured ages ago at a motor show, probably Tokyo or something like that. But a wheelchair is still a wheelchair, there’s really no way of disguising by bolting on “lifestyle bits” to it. If it ever makes it to the Cool Wall, I hope the team sets up a special column for it to be way down the line. It’s a disgusting concept for personal mobility.
Mika Häkkinen’s segment could have been a bit longer, really. It’s so rare for people his calibre to appear on the programme.
The V8 thing would have been complete nonsense had I not followed the rubbish posted by Tom Ford on his blog here. He had a V8 chainsaw (I think) in one of his posts.
I agree with Evoflash in post #80 that we shouldn’t get a car thief on the show. If I have to put forth a suggestion for a real car enthusiast, might I suggest Mr Bean (aka Rowan Atkinson).
The tuning bit was excellent stuff. Really loved it.
Loved the show…as always…really loved James in Finland! And Hammond love the haircut and the outfit..very cool! Jeremy, a fantastic attempt at carpentry…truely impressive!
Do keep up the good work!
I really enjoyed this Sundays show especially the bit about driving in Finland. Now call me an naive old beardy (no you can I don’t mind) but surely if we had a similar attitude towards driving in this country then surely we wouldn’t have half as much car crime?
My youngest is nine and wants to move to Finland so she can start learning to drive, and why not?
Great show this week! And great segment on “Marky Mark.” And I liked the bit on Finnish driving. Looking forward to next week’s show
I am a devoted fan, have seen all episodes from series 3, and i am gonna continue watching. But last nights show i feel was a bit sloppy.
My favorite episode is the african special. Three blokes on a journey powered by their mutual love for cars. Yesterdays show laced a little bit of that feel. i hope you find it again, and i am gonna continue watching cos top gear beats fifth gear any day!!!
loved the bit from finland though. in norway we also have the skidpad lesson, and i promise you, its bloody fantastic:D
I Love Top Gear and can’t wait for sundays to come round,
However…… this weeks episode did leave me wanting,
I think the fact the guys have been busy with the Top Gear Live shows had a noticable effect on the show this week.
Top Gear is Easily the best ‘factual’ and entertaining show on T.V.
Even the slower episodes (like this weeks) are better than most other things on the T.V
i found it amusing that they saw Mark Wahlberg as a positive aquisition from the current suspension of J.Ross’s friday show….(any other actor from the departed would have been better)
it would have been funny to see Jeremy slag off Mark Wahlberg a bit, the only good film he’s been a part of has been the departed and im fairly sure thats due to the rest of the award winning cast and not so much ‘Mr.Berg’ himself
perhaps jeremy was scared of him…..
Keep working guys,
keep Top Gear in Top Gear and don’t slooooowwww doooowwwwnn….
Back to the Studio…..
Good show i did enjoy it but its missing that little thing that made me first start watching top gear in the first place the cars, im not saying get rid of all the challenges infact dont get rid of any -beacuse i love them as well there so funny- or that you should start becoming serious -if you do that it wounlt be Top Gear anymore- i just thing that u should do more things on cars, more reviwes, keep the shows entertaining but ‘factual!’ would improve it alot. Make it a 2 hour show, then it wounlt seem as rushed and you could fit it all in.
but keep up the good work on CARS, looking forward to next Sunday…
Back to the studio!!
2 Hour shows….that’s genius…..
I second that idea…..
Back to the Studio…
I no i was so pleased when i thought of it!!
sorry to say this but this one was CRAP one of the least good episodes in their history
The Renault challange was good but the rest of the show was rubbish! Topgear shouldnt promote crap movies! Get Ross back on telli thats his job!
I WANT THAT BLENDER
GREAT SHOW HOPEFULLY THE REST OF THE SERIES WILL ALSO BE GREAT
And so you should be…
2 hour episodes are the way forward, makes the week long wait more worth while, and will make the editing easier and fitting more stuff into each one…including cars and comedy…better for every1
well done Rianna, if they listen remenber this day..
and anyone else remember where you were when this happened…
History has been made…….well, suggested.. but still
Back to the Studio……….
Oh yeah, I also loved the bit where Jeremy used the V8 engine as a powerful blender. It will definitely give those “will it blend?” folks on YouTube a run for their money! Can’t wait to see what else you all will do next with a V8 engine.
As always, that was absolutely fantastic. The blender was brilliant!!!
I have to say, I was disappointed with Wahlberg’s interview, particularly his plugging of Max Payne. However, I did enjoy the dig at scientology and the rest of the episode was great. I think it’s absolutely fine to have an episode every now and then without a power test or road test; it gives the guys a great chance for some cocking about. The V8 blender is a prime example, and I’m very much looking forward to the V8 whatever-it’s-called stairlift for old people. Also, for the record, I now want to move to Finland!
There was one bit of the Avantime film that confused me as it did Jeremy, James and Richard. Why was the time slower after they had fitted better brakes/tires? I can’t rationalize it!
May in Finland was really good, and the Avantime had potential but you kind of missed a trick with it. I just think this episode didn’t really gel together, it was missing something. Take a look back at some older series and have a look at the stark contrast between say series 6-7 to the latest.
I do hope there are more car reviews and road tests to come. I know you can do a good mix of cars and cocking about – you’ve done it before. Please.
mint episode loved it cant wait till next week
Trav –
the wheels they put on were only 600 pounds probably indicating that they weren’t lightweight at all, so they will have made the car heavier at least that was my rational at the time being slower,
i had a similar problem with a cheap set of 17″ alloys
Great Episode
Shame about the renault, Still the V8 blender
was just MAD (MAGIFENT AND DANGEROUS)
sorry, forgot….
back to the studio…
i am still slow.
Great show loved the Finnish driving segment
was an ok show, loved the May racing the renault bit at the end, the whole show was funny, like the challenges when you all have £100 to buy a car and get it to manchester kind of shows, there brilliant…
Great show the V8 Blender was genius where can i get one? lol
great did not want the show to end
I really wish you guys had explained why the tuned car kept getting slower. It would have been really interesting to understand how the “improvements” worked against it.
Great show but I thought Mark Wahlberg cam across as a bit of a numpty, a bit to cocky for me.
The show, i can see that T-Gear is trying to bring new stuff in. But i tell you guys what, forget the V* Motor thing; but stick with the car tuning, ha haaa, it was a good laugh and actually very interesting to see what would make a car faster, Amateur Tuning stile.
So, keep that in; but the oh-so important formular ”is” cars, don’t start a talk show or something like that; this show must remain mainly about cars.
If you guys are getting bored, not able to find any super cars to take out, or to spin it around the test-track, why not taking some £30 – £60 000 cars like a Merc SLK and spin that around, you don’t so often have to go on the £10-£18 000 cars.
So bullet point knowledge:
- Stick mainly to cars
- Yes the Amateur Car Tuning thing keep
- V8 spinning stuff = out
- No super-cars? try middle range price cars
Done
by the way, try Pennine Beach out again, this time with some realy nice cats.
And do scientific stuff like the drowning hamta again, on series 1 or 2 i think i found tha.
That’s it
Guys,
What are you doing to the show? Renault vs Evo – £15k of wasted money and a boring piece to watch too. I think the show is more about feeding the presenter’s need to show off rather than showing the audience Top Gear. I like to know about the latest technology and the fastest cars, but I also NEED to know about cars I can afford and what’s the best of the bunch. Get a grip for god’s sake.
Adrian
Alpha 159 Lusso
Please bring on some proper car reviews and shorten the SIRPC segment. That is not why I watch or like Top Gear. If I wanted to watch celebrities, I’d watch their movies or watch E! instead. I’d much rather watch the three of you do what you do best than some celebrity I’ve never heard of until last night who’s full of himself. Sorry, I wasn’t really impressed with him or his new movie bits.
However, I really enjoyed the V8 blender and James and Richard’s reactions to it – yuck and very funny! I loved James in Finland. That was wonderful and I think he did a great job learning to drift and taking part in the race. The modification was fun too. I really enjoyed the humour of it though. There were some comments and moments that really did make me laugh, so thank you for that. Keep being funny, keep doing proper car reviews, please continue the challenges when you can, and please please please shorten the celebrity guest sections. Can’t wait for next week’s show.
Graet show, liked the renault bit it was very funny. Also liked hamsters visit to Japan- i want one of them!
Disappointing like the first episode. you can tell that they are just trying to fill up the hour with pointless stuff that has very little to do with actually driving cars. Like the food blender…boring. Stick with motors not blenders wtf!
BRILLIANT, as ever!
James should now be known as Captain BRAVE for drinking what came out of that blender!!!
p.s. did NOT like Mr. Wahlberg!
Should have put him in the blender maybe?
MDF spliter.. superb! I hope that’s not the last we see of the Stig’s new family car! I also thought the V8 blender was truly inspired… i’ve never heard any kitchen utensil which sounded so glorious… nor have i ever heard of a more delicious smoothie than bricks’n'beef!
Where was the car test??
I’ve been watching since day 1 with Jason Dawes and black Stig, and thinking how good and pure it was. Just cars cars cars. Funny reviews, track outings, silly tests that were actually funny, rather than staged funny! £100 car challenge anyone? Porsche challenge? £1500 coupe? All funny, mostly silly, didnt seem too elaborate.
This series is selling out big time.
Guys, stick to cars, this is turning into a (noisy) show only. Where are the trips to South of France with a DB9 etc? Guess most people watch your programm bcs of the love for cars, the way it is presentated makes it a succes but never forget the title, Top Gear !!
The episode was really good!!
But, I hoped that Jeremy would have fited the car with some POWER ;D
Then if they would crack the evo´s time.. it would be back to CLASSIC TOP GEAR!!
Thx anyways for an fantastic episode!!
much love!!
Ash / Sweden
Piss funny especialy the food blender its just something clarkson could only think of.
Anyways great episode boys keep up the good work!!
james from may and clarksons area. YORKSHIRE
Someone please post it at youtube!!!!!
Good idea peeps lets have 2hour shows because lets be honest the rest of other channels are crap with nothing good to watch.
may your not alone i like all my air vents in my car to be the same as each other
Too many people say your boring but your not your funny because you just dont give a f**k.
Loved the V8 blender – thinking of one for the new kitchen…..! Was actually crying with laughter at the whole segment – especially Richard & James’s reactions to the ‘meat smoothie’. Why oh why did they taste it??!!!
ps: TG Live at Birmingham – saw the last show – ace! Shame that Richard didn’t come up to talk to the audience
What a poor, poor show Sundays was. Running out of ideas lads?
I’m sorry but in all honesty the show last night was ruined by the clown that is mark wahlburg. I’m sure alot would agree that what we dont want to see on our TV is someone gloating about how they used to steal and joy ride cars. Next time please find someone interesting. Overall i’d say 4/10 this time
James’s conversion to sporty driving is quite unusual and damn good fun to watch… shame the guys didnt get a Ford Mondeo to modify… they probably would have done better…. but who cares?? great show, as always…
I regret to say that I was very disappointed lastnight. I even done something I’ve never done before during an all new episode of TopGear. I left the room at one point.
The Renault Avantime? Did you guys even test that when it was launched and interesting for all of 2 mins? It was crap gents.
I found myself bored by Richard in the wheelchair. That is not TopGear stuff. Thats Tomorrow’s World circa 1988. As for Jeremy and the V8 blender. Total crap. I cannot even drive behind a Corolla on the roads because I am fearful I might pass out from boredom. Why would any car lover want to see that muck on TopGear?
Even James in the race bored me rigid. Something was really wrong with the formula for this episode. Was somebody on holidays? Andy? The financial controller? Had he left for Monte Carlo without giving you guys a budget?
I thought TopGear was all about cars. Like lastweeks episode. Can we have more of that sort of thing please? Less Jamie Oliver theatrics and amateur carpentry and more driving of new metal and doing a critique of the same. At least once in an episode would be nice.
Where is your test of the new Alfa Mito? The new allegedly, lighter & sharper Alfa Brera? Ford Fiesta? Mondeo? GM Insignia? VW Golf? Renault Laguna Coupe? New Megane? Twingo? Infiniti? There are dozens of cars out there that have just been revealed or released recently and we are not seeing them on the program. Cars of relevance to your actual audience. I’m not saying anyone wants to see a test of the Ford Focus because Ford changed the lights and grille, but what I, and I imagine lots of others, want to see are tests of all-new models when they are launched. Where are they? Why do TopGear not do that anymore?
Finally, when are you going to stop boring us all to tears with that P.O.S. Chevrolet Lacetti lolling around the track like a bladder on a stick? Once you’ve seen 1 S.I.A.R.P.C. you’ve seen them all.
I too was disappointed with last nights show. I always find myself sighing when the celebrity piece comes on, and last nights “interview” was just cringe worthy. The economic downturn gives TopGear a golden opportunity to reintroduce the “insider dealer” segment to the show, there are many bargains to be had!
Oh… and more supercars please
Flying Finn FTW!!
hey, u guys cool huh!!
keep on good work dude!=)
Lovin the show!
Wow – cant wait for the stair lift next week – lol
GREAT SHOW !
The motor racing from Finland was good honest stuff, where can we get more info on that as a google search is useless ! Renault tuning was the best format so far, keep that up for sure. V8 blender, what were you lot on thinking that up ?
Loved it last nite
it was funni watchin jeremy tryin 2 cook lol
loved the car at the end – “back to the studio” lol
race to blackpool nxt week – i was in blackpool wen they turned the lights on
The guest was another rubbish driver, the news was too long, the car challenge was again meant to fail but the show on a whole was actually funny.
Stop ending every episode on a negative failure. Last weeks show saw the three of them all hit their MPH targets and when the show ended you felt happy and elated that after all that time they DID actually manage to do it and it was pleasing to watch.
But having every other show end on a dissapointment is getting very boring and very anti-climatic.
Last weeks episode was probally the best for a couple of series! Take not, I am not the only one that said it. Sack the producer Andy, hire some 20 year old’s and stop fixing the show!
Like anyone pays attention to these comments. But Clarkson did comment on finally have a guest (Will Young) interested in cars.
I really hope you don’t listen to the idiots saying “great show”, “loved it” because you can tell their completely retarded. There is a few extremely good comments on here from clever people that should be listened to.
If Fifth Gear was an hour long, wasn’t so cheesey and had better production it could be a proper car program because Top Gear is leaving behind a huge gap where their ought to be one.
How about Not a Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. ORRRR Star in a TVR!
Clearly the Chevvy has ruined it!
Even better still… Bring back the Liana!
You can’t compare Top Gear and Fifth Gear because they are totally different – apart from both being an hour long. Fifth Gear gives us the consumer side of things in a way TG shamelessly doesn’t bother with. I would argue Fifth Geear is filling that gap, unless you want a return to the William Woollard, Chris Goffey days of old TG?
Loved the V8 blender, loved Captain Slow going fast (you’ll have to change his nickname at this rate) and loved the challenge at the end… bring on next week, I want mooooooooooooore!
I throughly enjoyed last nights show,
I really think James should change his nickname to Captain Blurr after last night going around that track in Finland it’s completely mad how they drive over there.
Talking of changing nicknames I really think Jeremy should change his to the ‘Mad Professor’ or something because that ‘motor powered’ blender thing was really sick, I was laughing a lot at Richard & James faces when they took a sip, but Jezza wasn’t brave enough to taste his own concoction? (bah!) Also the car conversion was good as well even though I’m not terribly knowledgable about car parts I still enjoyed that segment. Although it has to be said that Mark Wahlberg is a prick, that was the only part of the show I didn’t enjoy, and why oh why did Jeremy say that the new version of the Italian Job was good? IT WASN’T! Stop sucking up to these American pricks Jezza it’s very unbecoming, he really should have let him drink the smoothie and laughed when puked.
It seems young silly girls enjoyed the show. Says it all really.
I cannot believe that so many people come onto this site just to complain!!!!!!!!!
Last night’s show was brilliant lads, as are you, there will never be a bad episode of Top Gear because you three make it the best factual and entertaining programme in the world, don’t ever let these idiots who can’t get a life put the show down, you have plenty of avid fans who love the show and adore you all. Good work!!!
Loving the v8 blender. hopefully sometime soon a show wont finish with a failier.Maybe if they cranked up the power in the renault a bit more they might came a bit closer to the target time.
(if in doubt strap on a turbo).Keep up the good work guys.
I’ve seem ‘em better guys. The Finland bit was great, as was the Avantime-tuning attempt. Otherwise… I’ll skip the rerun of this one.
if you are going to come on here and moan… just dont bother.. if you are a true top gear fan you know exactly what to expect… the unexpected!! and all you ‘fifth gear is better’ moaners. DONT WATCH!!!! simple. Top gear is a fantastic show and I enjoy it every week regardless of whether they have loads of car reviews!! I am a fan! Cant wait for next week.
Pretty disappointing to be honest, the V8 blender was a complete waste of time and effort. Tuning bit OK but you didn’t really tune it up did you, just a service and new wheels & breaks, could have been more.
The Finland bit was very good though.
Brilliant show – loved every minute.
I long for Sunday evenings and my fix of TG.
Keep the good work up lads!
Most of these people on here are really angry and annoyed that apparantley sundays episode was crap all I can say is BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT dont listen to fusy people they r boring !!!
Used to think that top gear had bitten the shark in season 10. Season 11 showed had some good moments. But so far season 12 has exceeded all my expectations. Great job.
Good stuff but not brilliant. James May’s trip to Finland was great though, the Avantime thing was cool, and the V8 food blender was funny. But there should be at least one car review per episode. After all Top Gear is a car show.
Besides hoping to see at least one car review per episode in the future, I wish TG would just leave out the celebs and their interviews, for good.
More V8 stuff!!!
People who brag about when they used to nick cars shouldn’t be on Top Gear.
The End.
Loved last night’s show. Was ****ing great!
By the way, Will you guys ever review the Corsa VXR?????????????????????? ???
Firstly, let me say I’m a massive TG fan, but things are going a little pear-shaped. Remember the days when they actually tested cars? Jeremy, James & Richard are just as entertaining when thrashing exotica as much as trashing the latest Eurobox. We’re 3 shows in & how many tests have been done. One? Two? Come on, get your fingers out guys!
Having said all this I’ll be watching next week, and the week after……………
Oh please…. Not the GT-R again…….
Eeek! I feel as if I should be apologising to all the serious petrolheads here but I just enjoy the show because….I just enjoy it. I don’t *expect* it to be one thing or another so I’m never disappointed
Best episode since the first american special.
I thought the celebrity interview and James’ Finnish driving experience were both great. The rest of the program, however, was severely lacking.
the show was boring
the show was boring
For the person wondering about the Finnish folkrace – in Finnish it’s “jokamiehenluokka” – hope this helps. They do the same kind of thing in Sweden and Norway too(Norwegians call it “bilcross” – Petter and Henning Solberg got into motorsport through bilcross).
Incidentally, I feel inclined to agree with the earlier comment from Evoflash re Mark Wahlberg’s history as a car thief. Left a bit of an off taste in the mouth, much like the raw meat smoothie I guess.
great but … i started off thinking that the waistcoat was what hammond was wearing for a bet, then it turned out to be that even worse jacket. he is a bit old for the waistcoat look. and not nearly tall and thin enough.
Enjoyed the show. Mark Wahlberg seemed way out of place. The meat shake was great. All that build up for what you knew would just end in gobs of meet and juice flying everywhere was great fun. But the star of the show was May in Finland. That was a fun piece all the way through.
Finaly you are in Finland and it was so short and boring. Hakkinen as a drifter in Hameenlinna or as a rally-driver? Oh man, have you ever heard about Marcus Gronholm or Tommi Makinen?
Great show guys! But just one thing, I think you should leave out the celeb interviews. I think they make it a bit boring sometimes. The laps are fun, but the whole interview is just too much…
But still it was fantastic yesterday, keep up the good work! I’m already looking forward to next week!
Massive fan here but i gota be honest that wasnt the best episode you guys did!
Was still funny mind and the V8 Blender was awesome!! Were can i find one??
Just think there needs to be at least 1 car review on each episode… unless its one of those specials like the africa one or USA or North pole etc..
Cant wait for next weeks though
Sorry to say it but last nights show was one of the worst I have ever seen!
I have watched every single episode of Top Gear and I love the guys! I love that they are true petrolheads and that they actually love cars!
So it’s sad to see how last nights episode was truely awful.
The “Wahlberg”-interview was one of the worst pieces I have seen. He is obviously not a true petrolhead! He was so full of himself and only on a mission to get some air-time in the UK to promote his own movie! Why did you guys show a clip from the movie? I can not seem to remember you showing a clip from Dame Helen Mirren’s current project when she was on?
Or was it a deal-breaker from Mr. Wahlbergs agent? You had to show a clip from the movie if you wanted the car-thief Mr. Wahlberg on the show?
I did however like the trip to Finland and you showing us a step in May’s evolution from “Captain Slow” to “Captain Go!”.
This raceform Captain Go! took part of is also huge here in Sweden. Folkrace is an important part of motorsport in Scandinavia.
And here in Sweden, we are also forced to spend some time learning to skid properly. Or rather how NOT to skid at all.
So to conclude my ramblings, I love you guys but come on! You need at least one car review a week to call yourself a carshow.
And I think you should work to get a proper petrolhead to be a guest on your show. Rowan Atkinson is a good suggestion. Or if you really need a Hollywood-person, how about a proper “Gearhead”, as the yanks say, like Jay Leno. Now there is a guy how loves cars with a vengeance!
Back to the studio!
I’ve just spent the whole day thinking of other stuff that could be powered by a 6.2 V8!!
Hairdryer, washing machine/ tumble dryer, sit-down lawnmower, barbecue, calculator, spit roast, ……
Excellent touch. And I never saw the Avantime coming – I was adamant it was an Espace or a Ford MPV or maybe a Picasso. Sounded great, but not really Evo X pace, and needed a lot more money for it. Or more strict a diet. And a decent splitter. And so on.
Oh, and Mika Hakkinen is SO EPIC!! Legend. Shame I suppourted Schumacer when Mika was around (and indeed while Schumi was around). And well done Captain We-Need-A-New-Name-Coz-He ’s-Not-So-Slow-Now. Great scandinavian flicks!
Lets start a list of cars we’d like to see on Top Gear!
Lambhorgini Gallardo LP560!!!
Quite enjoyed the show, but the Renault-bit was truely disappointing. Where were the silly improvements? The really crazy things? Like excessive weight-saving-procedures, including doors etc; like fitting seven huge turbo-chargers to the engine; like filling the fuel tank up with nitro glycerine? They should have upped the budget and do some really crazy stuff! It also seemed a bit short, a bit unfinished. Maybe cancelling Hammond’s Toyota-part and extending the Reanault-part would have made sense.
Just my opinion.
”Loved it ” , ”Brilliant”
Yeah right; there are some people who write on this Blog, that really seem extremely easy too please; I am sure, if one would take a bit of dog poo and shuffle dynamite under the goo, and it explodes; I am certain that this people will be jumping in the air clapping their hands saying the same thing;………. ”BRILLIANT”
One can really notice that this people won’t be able to tell if it’s past 12 in the afternoon, until it got completely dark, where the say -
” Uuuh Yeeaaahhhhhhh, no it’s definitely Afternoon !!!
Uhhumm! And so of course, they won’t be able to recognise, how Top-Gear has changed into a complete no-brainer.
And the amount of negative complaint should be alarming to T-Gear, telling them that the people that watch Top-Gear, are no Donuts; but intelligent people with good earnings that like a laugh, but not complete overtime Idiocy !!
I need not say more, everything significant has been said; and now i hope that I and a others have maid it clear 1) who to listen too 2) what we want!
my mum says she’d rather not have a v8 blender for xmas, but she’s interested in a v8 powered stairlift
btw 213 Lee Taylor… they had the gallardo lp560 in the first episode, u must have missed it
Erm…where are the cars?
The i-real was a chair.
The V8 blender wasnt a car.(although amusing)
Mark the american was unfathomably dull (although nice to know some of the women in the audiance have brazilians).
er….May just drove a banger.
The Aventine was the only real car and then they did a terrible job and clearly were determined to fail.
I do hope we get to see more cars next week.
I thought the show was as funny as ever, love the jacket that Richard had on, it looked as if it was made with some shiny curtains.
Mark Wahlberg was funny what a really nice, down to earth guy he is.
Great show, as ever, but what about that V8 food blender!! I want one in my life, now! Brilliant!!
bril loved every minute of it. i want richard’s wastecoat. aslo what are these bet that make them wear vile jackets.
Amazing show!!
Did Richard and James actually drink the “smoothie”??? I mean it had brick and uncooked meat in it!!!!!!
I missed half of it for going to see Top Gear Live at the NEC BUT IM IM SURE IT WAS ACE
lol that was a good show last night
do you think they really ate it???
are they putting the veyron around the track??? ne1 no???
the stair lift must be funny
ive just thought of some new V8 ideas;
a V8 chain-saw
a V8 escalator
a V8 thing that spins round in the middle of the table
and finally to replace “star in a reasonably priced car”
“star in a slightly overpowered blender’
compared to last week it was average, not one point made me genuinely laugh out loud.
it was a brilliant show although i think jeremy Richard and James should have at the end spent nore of there won money and stuck a big turbo or supercharger on it so it would beat the evo Maybe you should stick a V8 on one of those old peoples mobility scooters!!!!
I reckon it was the best episode of the series so far, absolutely loved it! Top notch stuff… James is really coming out of his shell this year? Wonder if jeremy will come out of his closet?
Oh by the way, loving tha jacket hamster, lol. It must have been a heck of a lot of money to wear that in front of millions of viewers.
3 words clappo (post 185) ag(e?)ist, sexist, idiot
Top gear was great last sunday.PLEASE make more like that one!!!!!!!!
Some people on here must be aged 8 to 14 and brilliantly thick judging by the comments “brilliant” “best ever” “coool”. The show was poor and its becoming a (crap) overblown chat show. Sort it out lads hey?
Awesome show as usual!
The funnest bit was when Jezza tried to make a smouthy with a V8 engine
In the second show, whilst driving the ‘Vette, Clarkson said ‘Are you listening Ferrari?’. That was good show. Following the third episode, and after reading some of the excellent comments with correct spelling and punctuation on this page, I say ‘Are you listening TopGear?’
Come on Andy, do you really want to appeal to people asking ‘Do you really think they ate it?’ and ‘Loving the jacket, lol.’? At least at the moment you have people like me moaning about TopGear’s downward spiral; it means we still care. You should start worrying when the intelligent comments stop, and you’re just left with ‘cool, lol, awesome!!!!’ because those will be the only people left watching.
Clappo Is Gay U Can’t Hate top gear
Great show, the V8 blender thing was great! haha
And I have to say, last week, Will Young was great, I didn’t think I’d like him, but he was funny as hell with Jezza, for a moment there I thought they were going to make at out. hahaha
Mark wallyberger was just…..$@*£, arrogant, stuck up, looked liked he just wanted to promote his movie & leave the show….Waste of 10 minutes.
But I liked it when he was driving the car, he said; “This car is a piece of crap”. (Somewhere along those lines) And I thought: Well yeah, it’s American, what do you expect?.
So….Great show apart from the guest bit.
Is James going to drive the Veyron? Again? Round the track?
Loved the show as usual. V8 blender. A piece of genius. Bad luck on the Renault. Can’t wait for next week. Keep up the good work
the g-wizz rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
jeremy the way you drive cars is like a noisy rat under the floor-boards
There are so many great new cars out at the moment. Does TopGear simply not care anymore??
New Megane?
New Fiesta?
Vauxhall Insignia?
Honda Jazz?
Alfa Mito?
VW Scirocco?
Kia Ceed even?
Oh, ok we’ll have a celebrity endorsement and an explosion again…
You’re doing what the Simpsons has done; making a fun treat a crappy normality, and who, if anyone, watches the new Simpsons episodes?
Great fun guys! I love when great racing drivers are on the show and the episode was outrageously funny
Dear Mole,
Please tell us which episode we get to see Zonda vs. Veyron!
Prosper,
That will be in the next episode. The Veyron does a power lap too.
Loved it! Me, Mum and Dad laughed all the way through the time they were modifying the car! James stealing Clarkson’s line, who then steals Hammond’s line, the two lazies trying to convince James to stay up all night, fixing the car, and Clarkson’s anticlimax when he put the time on the power lap board all make it hilarious. It puts it in the same place as a)the miniscule peel p50, b)JC’s dream car interior, c)amphibious cars no.1 and d)the london race where the stig took the tube. All of the mentioned above are in my TG Hilarious moments Hall of Fame. 5 stars.
james is really shruging off his nick name
think the stig is gonna have something to worry about can’t wait for his power test
Oh yeah, I meant to ask. Does anyone know what episode the stig’s communist cousin does motorbike stunts?
Here’s a thought… how about aiming Top Gear back at people who can actually drive?
And if you’re wondering about the younger audience; I used to watch TG as a kid, before the revamp, and I loved it. It made we want to drive. I now have my first car (an MX-5) and love driving because of what I saw on TG.
The kids who watched Sunday’s show aren’t leaving comments saying ”I can’t wait ’till I can get a car”, they’re saying ”I want a v8 toaster”.
‘Sell Out’ isn’t strong enough to describe what you’re doing. But, I do completely understand that if you want a double expresso hit of ratings then what you’re currently making will achieve that.
Long term success however, which once seemed so sure, seems to be slipping away from you. You only have to look at the feedback from TG Aus to see you’re killing the franchise.
Greed is destroying TopGear.
keep it up with the amazing episodes we DEMAND more series after this 1
(please??)
Birdy, agree with you a bit in post 243. I’ve personally outgrown the Simpsons myself.
The thing with TG is that the cars you’ve mentioned will not make it into their list. At best, they would talk about them like they would of the Dacia Sandero (hope I’ve got that one right). The last time they’ve ever featured cars of that calibre, I believe, the hosts got their mothers to do the reviewing.
I believe we could, from time to time, look beyond the lack of cars (even though this is contrary to the belief that car shows must always feature cars). Just for entertainment’s sakes.
But pure rubbish like featuring a loud, brash food blender or interviewing a car thief should certainly be a no-no. We can reserve that for certain Do-not-try-this-at-home-c hildren’s programmes, maybe. Or Brainiac. Or some gameshow (probably American, but no offence to any Yank reading this).
Neither should motorised-wheelchairs be given so much airtime, even though the larger part of Europe and Japan are facing a greying population. It should have been featured in the news segment instead (and be promptly dismissed).
The bits that are left were what I’d personally liked, whether it was from a couch potato’s perspective or that from a petrolhead.
Still, I would like to reiterate my earlier stand that segments like the Finnish driving escapade should have been longer. Especially when you have such a star tutor around.
I won’t end this post with a plea as most of the work had been already done by others. I’m just hoping that the producers are really reading these posts and they act on it.
Comments to my own post are welcome.
I hope the producers actually read all this, because to anyone with half a brain it is clear that the show has gone past dumbing down and is firmly in the realms moron TV. Just look at all these people singing the praises of what was pehaps the worst ever TG there has been, unbelievable!
Where are the cars, the reviews, the head to heads etc?? Who the hell wants to see a V8 mince meat and a brick?? Five minutes of utter stupidity and a part of my life I’ll never get back.
Post no 238 has it spot on, before long you’ll lose so many viewers and you drift ever nearer to becoming the televised equivalent of the daily sport!
Sort it out and do what you do best and stop acting like the drooling morons you are attracting in ever increasing numbers.
haha great new series and great guests to
we need lkonger series, TG used to do 12 episode series
how dare clarkson be such a kiss bum. the new Italian job good genuinely disgusts me this is a car show not a kiss bum chat show and clarkson could do well to remember it. nice meat shake thou and please have a proper go at the cool wall for a long time things have moved on let Hammond take over as he’s far cooler than clarkson.
I wat one of those V8 engin Blennder Plzzzzz Jeramy give me the blue prints plz
thanks
And how about seeing the Stig with all is cousins together and a picture of the old stig
hiiah great show sunday guys unluky wiv the car but i cud of dun better hahaha
I think you should try and make another convertable people carrier, but with a chrysler voyager, its a much better people carrier
Jeramy, Stop mocking Gingers!
i jst wanna say dat u old farts r rong so an shuld b quit yer dis is wat i like an av got taste in all top fings and tg is one of em so chil yer and wach smet els. i luv u hamsta da best
Firstly, and quite rightly so, a big thumbs up to PDMC (#173) for the most spot-on description of the Lacetti ever. You simply made my day. Thank you.
About the Ep3 then:
Coming from Finland myself, I was of course delighted by James’ visit, along with that bit of a tribute paid to Finnish rally drivers, as well as the race against your average housewife, grandpa and a 12-year old. Very much a gem for me, that part of the show.
The rest wasn’t really quite as good, I must say. The Avantime tuning would’ve probably worked better if you lot had been competing against each other, rather than trying to achieve something as a team. But then again, hasn’t that been seen already? Perhaps a car review then?
As much as Richard’s road test with an interview made me smile, I forgot it until someone brought it up again somewhere ^up there^. I certainly hope that “the future of motoring” will be mostly on the news section in the coming episodes.
Wahlberg managed to make a lot of people think he’s an idiot. He’s probably right.
It’s a brilliant show you guys have got there and no doubt a very difficult one to balance between car reviews, epic races and the downright loonie stuff for the big crowd, but please do try to bear in mind where it originated from.
“i jst wanna say dat u old farts r rong so an shuld b quit yer dis is wat i like an av got taste in all top fings and tg is one of em so chil yer and wach smet els. i luv u hamsta da best”- Shivaun
I suddenly feel like Bill Murray in Tokyo…
1- God bless the kind souls who invented torrents. If I had to wait for BBC America to view TG episodes I would be wondering if I was in some parallel universe or time warp.
2a- Overall, I thought the show was pretty good. Not great, not “so-so” and not awful; but pretty good. I loved the James May film (could have been longer), I liked the Mark Wahlberg segment — while he may have been a car thief, he did turn his life around prior to achieving fame and is suprisingly philantropic and all that. I’m not crazy about his films, but I liked his interview segment, and loved the sharp-ish jab he gave Scientology. Whatever his faults and foibles, that alone redeemed the segment in my eyes. He also turned in a pretty decent time considering that, like most of my countrymen, he was (sigh) utterly bewildered by the suprise appearance of a clutch pedal and a stick shift. He may be the faster American thus far, which isn’t a statement that carries all that much weight up to now, granted.
[To answer Andy and Jeremy unseemly pleadings: Yes, I'm still available. Yes, I promise not to break the Lacetti, let alone two. Yes, I also have never stolen a car and no, I am not above bribery. Please stop sobbing in my voicemailbox, it is unseemly and not very becoming.]
2b- I HATED the V8 blender segment with a fierce, purple passion. Utterly pointless; a colossal waste of time which I will never get back and one which I believe will go the way of the Top Gear stuntperson. The Toyota chair segment was underwhelming. The tuning segment seems to have been edited down to make room for the chair and blender, as it seemed stunted and lacking in flow. How they spent the +/-£10K in tuning the Avantime is something of a mystery going by the film as aired. Which is a pity, because the semi-joined-up which did make the broadcast was rather enjoyable…please, someone, post the complete video on the website.
3- A proper car review would have gone a looooooooong way towards raising my opinion of this episode from “pretty good” to “great!” In particular, the Alfa Mi.To would have been very desirable…I only hope TG is saving itself for the Alfa Mi.To GTA. (As an avowed Alfa maniac, I didn’t fail to notice the Abarth 500 went around the track faster than the 8C.)
4- In sum: pretty good show, could have been great with a few little tweaks. I think that’s all. As you were.
Deafdiefenbaker wat that mean n who bill murray yer? an u got a well stoopid name man i cant reed it lol
hiya i think show was great as always and i thought it was dead funny aswell, it made me laff loads an i thought car looked boss at the end but u cudnt av made it any better than that, after all it was a reno aventime!!!
p.s-u wer gr8 stig
o yeah loved v8 blender shud have a v8 microwave aswell lol
To Shivaun
No offence fellow TG fan, I merely meant that I could not understand what you were saying. No need to make fun of my screen name though…its a blog about a TV show…
The only thing i didn’t like about last nights show was that so called hollywood star telling us about how he used to steal cars and joyride! In my opinion not something to boast about. Otherwise i enjoyed it.
Deafdiefenbaker its ok tho u is probs from pole land or suffink an watchin r tv yer not able to reed ma stuff an dat is ok tho
This episode of TG was great! I did enjoy the V8 blender, , however I would of like to see some sort of explosion. (particularly a GM, Ford, or Chrysler) Try to fit it into the next episode because the US and Canada is fitting it into their economy. Ryan. Canada.
Alright! Nice one again, keep going the same way top gear, please please!
I liked the “catching EVO X” for the same price.. Argh no! The choose to catch the wrong performance/value car. What’s more EVO X is 31k$ in the US, which is huge difference, you mitsubishi owners! What’s more, in other parts of Europe is even worse, going for 50k EUR, oh god!
I still loved it a lot, the whole challenge and other (let say bloody) staff and kind of
Love ya, keep going!
An OK episode, but I would’ve liked to see a car review, the Finland bit was great though.
And the blender…
Very American Tim Allen Home Improvement. Very funny!
it was really good i thought it was class and mabye a bit camp. man shake would be nice if poured over a naked babe.
aventime was good why did they not just strip out the interior completly. and fit a turbocharger to the engine.
but great show, well done chaps
you are pathetic it was great and that is an end.
All i will say is :
the show needs “more cowbell”
i have to say that this week’s show wasn’t very interesting but based on what i have read about next week’s show it is just a small shock before the massive EARTHQUAKE comes…can’t wait for next week
Loved the show last week it were brill. jeremys invention was the best, v8 in a kitchen i can see it going a really long way. The lazy wheelchair was just amazing. Oh yh jermey don’t use wood as a spliter it does catch fire as u found out.
Owh i liked it , great fun but it needs more Cowbell.
Owh yeah and more from the pride of Milan,
She’s the automotive love of my life.
Loved it!
I love TG, luv the boys and i can neva wait for next weeks
U guys crack me up
Keep it comin
Cons: There is no car test. Mark Walhberg was irritating and slow. The V8 blender is silly.
Pros: Both James and Richard both delivered in their respective segments. The transition from one segment to another was seamless and wonderfully edited together.
Conclusion: Great episode, even by Top Gear high standard.
Suggestion: Get Jay Leno on the show.
Wow this site feels a lot more like it’s on the internet: kudos to the marketing people you use!
:p
I actually had high hopes for the Renault regardless of how much effort they put into it, but I have higher hopes for that man-shake, he could brand it himself and everything.
Looking forward to ”i”-playing episode three.
the avantime was the best ive had 1 truly great car
Good goddamn…we’re back to this already? ONE week of spectacular car porn, and then back to chasing ratings by amusing halfwits and LOL!’ers? Jesus wept. I give up. I really do. Ladies and gentlemen of a petrolhead persuasion, the show we knew and loved is dead. Not dying, dead. Because dying implies that the doctors are at least trying to bring it back from the brink, and I am not at all certain that the captains of the good ship TG, our beloved heroes, really give a damn one way or the other. Are they just fed up with themselves? Are they completely bored of cars now? Are they content to have become reality-sitcom stars instead? Clearly, since this series has shown that if anything, they are going backwards.
I think it was telling that in ep. 2 of series 11, they were actually semi-facetiously apologizing for the surplus of car stuff in the show, and the lacking of middle-aged men falling over. My heart absolutely sank when Jezza said that, even in half-hearted jest. Apologize?!?! What, to bone-from-the-neck-up chavs, mouth-breathers and grade schoolers? How about this: how about *they* apologize to *us* for ruining our f*&$ing show. I’m glad it’s giving people a laugh. Really. But once upon a time, it managed to do that AND actually be the best car show in the known universe. FIFTH GEAR was but a pale imitation of it. Now, those of us who carried the show from day one are being told, “If you don’t like it, sod off and watch our lame, also-ran competitor, because they are actually doing our job better than we are at present, and we really can’t be arsed to please the diehard fans anymore”. Some time ago, Andy Wilman wrote a piece in which he more or less stated that the intention was not to endlessly try topping themselves with outrageous stunts and challenges in a bid to chase ratings. Clearly, then, either the estimable Mr. Wilman was lying, or has done a complete about-face in the face of pressures from either the BBC brass or from his bank managers.
Three episodes into this series, a full three hours of TG, and we’ve had…wait for it…two car reviews. Plus a (spectacular) special. How’s this for a wacky editorial suggestion: if the episode doesn’t contain at least TWO (2) proper 8-10 minute car reviews AND at least one (1) Stig power lap, then it doesn’t get to air. That will leave a good 35 minutes for the imbeciles who care nothing about cars to watch the lads building or crashing something rubbish or perhaps lighting their own flatulence or something. And if you front load the nonsense time wasters for the kiddies, they can go to bed and the grown-ups can tune in at 8:30 to watch a proper bleeding car show again.
And is it just me, or is Jezza saving all of his proper car reviews for his DVDs? Hmmmm…
Not sure about the use of the 15,000 on the car. Probably could have been better spent…POWER!!! Like twin turbo power! Plus some thick anti roll bars and those same coil overs wouldve given the evo a run i think. Other than that wonderful!!! Just one question, will the V8 blender ever make it to market?!?!? I could use one
I’m glad to see there are people on here talking sense.
Would you three stop pissing about and test some cars, please! They don’t have to be fast and they don’t have to be good, just make the tests interesting to watch.
TG is morphing into Noel’s House Party. Actually he’d be a great guest, GT40 owner and ex TG presenter.
It’s all just losing it’s way a bit.
Let’s get back to what the show used to be – lots of cars and a bit of a laugh with 3 excellent presenters. Lose all the other crap. Please.
Anyway…….
Back to the studio!

If the comments above aren’t making you guys think ‘oh sh*t’, they should be.
I wonder when will TG crew finally realize power output on the wheels is always much lower than BHP. It really is annoying when people who claim to know something about cars don’t understand what the basic parameters of the engine mean.
Yer but Mark Wahlberg…… cock.
Fantastic. Would’ve loved to see a proper road-test, but this has to be one of the most entertaining ‘non-special’ episodes.
i think that this new series of top gear is the best yet, they have learned to appeal to a new generation. yes their will be some episodes that arnt amazing, but it doesnt matter, it is all part of the process. makes the good ones that much better
Post 290. Mark Wahlberg is hilarious, a proper american gear head
Great bloody show, everythings great about it, the whole of Top Gear….Apart from one thing, “The Star In A Reasonably Priced Car”…Please Top Gear!!! Get rid of it, it sucks! It’s had it’s good run and now it’s time to finish it off & replace it with something else!!! Anything!!! 99% of the guests don’t even know what an Audi is anyway.
SIARPC makes sense, but it should be much shorter and only about cars… What we really want are CARS, not rubbish talk
Remember Series 7? Just six episodes, but each and every one was amazing! Just to remind you, some of the cars tested just in those 6 episodes: Ascari KZ1, BMW M6, V8 Vantage, 911 carrera S, Audi RS4, Ford GT, F430, Pagani Zonda (and Zonda F), Veyron, Honda NSX… Huh? Are there really no new cars to drive?
The V8 shaker was kind of displaced I thought! come on, what you guys can best is test cars and do challenges…OK, not every show can be like the first one of the series (the best one for me so far)…
looking forward for more!
GREAT SHOW! Captain Slow is evolving into Stig. :]
Top gear was the most hilarious thing, and the “man’s milkshake” bit made me laugh so hard that that my stomach hurt and tears came to my eyes. I love this show. Richard Hammond is a hottie!
Pretty good episode! Had its fair share of laughs, but I think I speak for all hardcore TG viewers when I say, “MORE CARS PLZ!”. The change from the “prog rock” format, as Andy likes to call it, was nice.
Whilst the parts of the show were entertaining and interesting – particularly the Finnish bit and the car tuning – and it was generally quite funny, it felt like a patchwork of odd pieces flung together.
The blender bit was just silly, as if it was a last minute idea for filling a gap in the running order.
The ’star’ in the car seems to be less and less of a star these days. Perhaps that section has run out of steam now and could become an occasional feature when you find a willing, properly famous victim!
I think the lack of James-May-baiting in this series has improved it enormously, it was getting uncomfortably spiteful and bitchy, but the atmosphere is better now and they all look as if they are enjoying themselves.
pretty shocking episode if you ask me, not one to stick in the memory. V8 blender lastest far too long and it was just too silly.
Finnish segment – great
Blender – dumb although I can see why some people enjoyed it
Tuning segment – could have been much better
would have liked a proper car test
Aceeeeee x
I am not a silly little girl, I wish I was!
Actually I’m a middle aged executive. Who spent her school holidays out with her commercial fitter Father, and have been driving various cars & trucks since about the age of 5!
Yes I thought the show was brilliant, and that James is wonderful etc… BUT credit crunch car reviews would be a lot better than Stars In Cars. Also you could see that the guys had been spread a bit thin between the TV and Live shows this week. However it was still a good show, compaired to the other dross on TV. I think we have become far too spoilt with Top Gear, and complain as soon as we get anything ‘less’ than we think we should. Which just goes to show how good the production really is…
i have never missed a top gear i even watch the reapeats on dave. top gear is by far the best show on the telly. funnyest and factual. the knowladge about cars are unbelievable. and the tasks that the producers set are realy good but “ambicious”. i dont like fith gear. i get better knowladge of my grandmar than fith gear. keep bringing out the seirieses lads
This show makes me vibrate so muuuch yall i cant get over how cute richard hammond is, he is so auwsome. Jeremy u sly devil working that afro perm it is totaly raad, and james may your gay.
Peace out you sexy biatchess, keep up the good work on the show dudes see you guys next sunday.
Love Mechanical Dildo.
James May is now my favourite driver after learing the scandanavian flick. Beat That Jezza!
Have to say the Renault Tuning challenge is one of my favorite challenges in a long time. Really brilliant stuff.
It was quite briliant!!
Not good lads…come on you can do better…
Return of the “Cool wall” please and please stop inviting guests that has to spend half the interview talking about their last film or album. It’s so boring and they do it on all the other talkshows anyway.
Feature guest Jonas Armstrong, Viggo Mortenson, Samuel L. Jackson, KT Tunstall maybe
please STOP the new odd interviewing of stars in cars , this a ( sort of ) motoring program not bloody parkinson , , now its all ‘ latest book / film etc ‘ not what we want to see / hear !.
This is definitely one of my most favourite episodes!!right after the brilliant last episode of season 11!!
Everything seems to go too hastily. James’ film was good, but the way the story was setup was very short. Afterwards they didn’t even have time to sum it up, which is a shame, cause those moments are good.
What was the song called used during the Mika Hakkinen bit?
It was very2 brilliant show!! with these 3 Blocs presenting the show, its will never be boring show!!
dis-apointed at the length and style of the interview it was too long and it was nothing more than a plug, I get it that because he is a big hollywood star you have to give him more time and to “see a clip” but come on!!!!!!!!! top gear is soooo much better than that
avantime bit was good
walberg bit was good
finland bit was good
blender bit was shocking
Show was great, but I was at the filming for it last Wednesday and unedited it was even better, it’s a shame that the BBC do not have a late night un-edited version because the banter in between takes is even more hilarious.
i thought it was well cool and one of the funniest things ive seen. I hope Jezza does the v8 stairlift nxt week!!
Don’t have Americans on Topgear..
They ruin everything!
it is my life long dream to become a top gear presenter…love the show
comment on post 23:
the GT2 has beaten the GTR around the top gear test track as well
Better yet, take MAY to the Nurburgring with both the GT2 and the GT-R and he’ll sort out which is fastest.
Season 12 episode 3?
Boring!
Less chats, more cars please…
top gear id class i would love to go to there studio
Clarkson drives, curses and jokes like an italian…
The funniest thing is i’m italian!
Anyway, TG is the best show in the world-wide TV.
hi:D luv the show, but there is something about the new series that isnt as funny as series 11
but the v8 blender had me in stitches so keep it up guys~:D
Bit of a let down.
Top Gear is still the best thing on the TV by a country mile, but many more of those and I am not sure.
Wahlberg was awful. Ruined it. These ‘Hollywood stars’ do not add to the show, they detract from it. And Jeremy, you liked the modern Italian Job? Fingers in the throat stuff.
Other bits were as good as usual. Avantime segment should have been longer. We all want to see you larking around, not sucking up to some film star. It is a car show, not Film 2008.
Still, the first two episodes of this series were amazing though. Sensational. Let’s have more of those.
i half agree with him^^
This is just a note to all of those people who feel compelled to tell people who indicate that they didn’t like a particular show to, “get lost.”
I’m a massive fan of TopGear. I watch it religiously. I buy the 3 lads books when they publish them & I subscribe to the magazine. As a non – UK based fan then I think I am supporting the lads as best as they could as for, without paying the UK TV Licence Fee.
So, if I don’t like an episode I feel I have the right to voice my opinion on this platform. That is what it is for afterall. I will chuck accolades and congratulations at the gents when I feel that they deserve them. However, I will equally berate them when I feel that they have let a die-hard fan down.
I was disappointed by the stupidity and randomness of Sunday’s show. In light of that seemingly being the theme, Mark Wahlberg topped it off nicely. The previous Sunday was vintage TopGear. I have rarely enjoyed an epsiode so much.
But last Sunday’s show was dross. It strayed too far wide of the car show mark and descended into a slapstick farce. Being funny, ambitious but rubbish & exciting is what makes TopGear so individual and distinct from Fifth Gear. But is our duty as fans to inform the makers of the show when they get it wrong as well as right, and everyone is entitled to their opinion on which they feel each particular show was for them.

“Like anyone pays attention to these comments.”
RE: The above comment and those like it. Don’t you realise that this is like a modern day webform version of the traditional, ‘letter to the editor?’ It is highly unlikely that an organisation such as the BBC would provide a forum for the public to comment on the show and then not monitor or moderate that. Haven’t you read the User Agreement text below the comment’s field at the bottom of this page? You can’t surely believe that no one is watching this to ensure that the agreement is enforced.
You can be very sure that the comments posted here are monitored closely and taken very seriously. Plus, if something seems written by someone reasonably coherent who makes an interesting or well informed suggestion or point, it could possibly even be escalated for the attention of someone with influence over the direction of the show.
If we want the show format returned to what it was (when it was at its best) … this is where we will effect the necessary change. I hope we manage it because if we don’t … I think the show might go the way of the Liana – and disappear.
Great episode boys! Yes, slightly random but great fun nonetheless. James driving with the Finns was an absolute laugh, and for some reason, my respect level for Mika Hakkinen just flew through the roof too. I think when you see an F1 driver talk about sisou and the emotional state of mind he was in, it’s a thousand times better than the usual marketing drivel and nonsense.
Keep it up lads!
IT WAS ALL FANTASTIC ESPECIALLY THE FOOD BLENDER
‘birdy’ and vast majority of you im sorry i love cars but if you want to see car after car no entertainment no comedy NO CLARKSON! you shouldn’t be watching top gear. maybe yur more suited to fifth gear on five
spelt your wrong ……………………. go watch fifth gear
Im glad to see that all the mick-taking out of James as stopped a-bit, it was funny and good to start with, but at the end, it started to become, a bit spiteful and not very funny, and you could tell by James face in some of the jokes that he didnt really find it very funny, and he looked as if it was more of an awarkward pun that a really funny one -on James side anyways-. i was getting worryed that the jokes about him were goning to get a-bit OTT. The older joke about him where funny -no offence James!- but just some of the newer jokes in seasons 10-11 wernt that good, but this season the jokes are funnyer and less hurtful.
Also i loved the show it was brilliant love your new outfit Hammond
Loved it. Just loved it. Especially James’s… Jameses… James’es… (I should really know how to spell that, it’s my brother’s name too!) anyway, his obsessive air vent thing. Hilarious stuff.
BTW cannot believe that either of them tried that brick and raw meat smoothie. Clarkson made it, and even he didn’t try it. Their faces were hilarious though!
Post 334/5: Do you know, I actually think you’re right. Top Gear used to be cars WITH entertainment and comedy, but the pendulum has swung and maybe if we want cars we should look elsewhere. Shame, ‘cos TG was a great show for car and entertainment lovers, now we’re outnumbered and TG has to match what it’s viewers want, and maybe that’s not cars anymore. I do feel like my show has been hijacked by idiots though…
P.S You spelt ‘you’re’ wrong twice. I’m sure that’s a coincidence and has nothing to do with the ‘highjacked by idiots’ bit I said earlier.
My theory of why TG has stopped being a car show because of Clarkson’s addition to supercars and the making of his DVDs to make more money. Since the cars borrowed for Top Gear can also be used in his DVDs, the TG team and Clarkson will continue to insist of testing just supercars. Since there is only so many supercars coming out each year, it leads to the apparently loss of car tests in the show.
Drop the SIARPC – they are dull!!
Idiocy
Imbacillity
Donut- heads
And old Lizard Heads in tie and coat, with the mind of greedy & selfish 4 year olds……..
Are some of the fff***ing good expressions that may be used, to describe the current state of mind of the three I******** Heroes of the 90 year olds!
Great show guys really enjoyed it
But Mark Wahlberg was a big tool he couldn’t look more bored if he tried. I wanted Jezza to wrap him up and go and do thr cool wall.
Please cool wal soon
If they want to be stupid, sure, IN THEIR OWN TIME, not wasting ”OUR” MONEY, being the full description of ”IDIOCY ITSELF” !
You three MOt********* are here to do YOUR JOB, not to wasting our money for you guys to be stupid.
This is not even half hearted work,
That is plain greediness and holding us for dumm, with their probable thinking that they can gather all that money coming from US , and perform cheaply and wastefully stupid, with the out-put performance of a tenth of 1 10th per-cent! And so making Insanely large profit!
The MPH show in Earlscourt, 2008, on a Saturday 4 performances, a Silver Ticket costing £40 , 6000 seats per show; so whats the maths? 4 shows x 6000 seats = 24 000
£40 x 24 000 = £960 000 !!! in one day!
for a Idiotic performance!
I will never , ever , ever visit MPH again, what a waste of money!
345 comments, with a hell of a lot of complaints. This is serious.
3 episodes wasted, 5 more to go, ………
Gets worse every week in my opinion, funny in parts but where’s the road tests? If you want to see cars, watch 5th Gear these days.
will you make one bigger for fat people? HaHaHa!!!.
I think they should do a tribute show to Audi! They make just about every type of car going [beautifully] except a squillion pound hypercar [unless you include the Veyron] and they aint in F1 which is a shame. Oh and if the food blender used the V8 from an RS4, it would’ve minced it even better!!
New cars to be reviewed should include the jaw droppingly gorgeous S7
Great show when will people get that although cars are involved this is now a great entertainment show! and jeremy upset some more guardian readers soon!
psssssss! You three, you heard it, Top-Gear is now known as an ”Entertainment show” , not a ”Car Documentary & Testing show” with a laugh.
sad – over to fifth gear then!
Entertaining episode, and that for me is the main problem.
What is Top gear now? An entertainment program or a program about cars? How about doing as bit of both. I read a piece somewhere (Final gear I think) saying the director wants to do less shows so that they don’t run out of ideas. Well, in this episode you used up 3 ideas that could have been used separately, filled up the rest with some car reviews and added 3 shows to the series length into the bargain, the same as you you used to do, remember Mr. Willman?
I enjoyed the show but I watch Top Gear to hear your reviews of cars (and not just your super cars, I enjoy your normal car reviews more because I can relate to them and they are cutting and funny). If you want to be entertaining, great, but go prime time with a huge budget on BBC 1, think how much fun you can have cocking about then. I would watch and love it no doubt, but in the mean time to get my fix of the stuff I used to watch Top Gear for, the cars, I’m going to have to go back and watch re runs of Fifth Gear (which Tom Ford and Johnny Smith excepting is painful). A depressing proposition indeed.
Oh, and I agree with a lot of the posters above too, Jeremy, the new Italian Job, good? What has gotten into you? Made me want to puke. Get rid of the SIARPC or get back to basics and make it an interview about their car history and love of cars (remember Jodie Kidd, she was a great guest).
I have to agree with some of the comments above : where are the car reviews ? I do not care that much for the normal ones, but at least the nice sport coupés should have a place in there in my humble opinion. Those are the ones that make me wanna gain more money in order to spend it on super fast cars.
I like the episodes a lot, but I also think there’s something missing : news about cars (and I’m not talking about the dacia sandero : )).
Im sure the reviews will come, and as for car news im pretty sure there isnt that much around right now!?
right now though the guys are just havin some fun, which they desreve, dont you think?
For anyone who thinks that there aren’t many new cars on release at present, and that this explains why TopGear haven’t tested them, you’re not very well informed. Rarely have there been so many new models on release all at once, across a number of cut throat sectors. I recently attended the Paris Motorshow and there was a lot of new metal to take in.
Toyota’s new iQ / new Avensis, new Ford Ka, Fiesta, Focus ST or RS / latest Mondeo (since you never bothered before now), Alfa’s new Mito / Brera / 159 Ti, FIAT Punto Abarth, Seat’s new Ibiza / Exeo, Citroen’s new C3 Picasso / C5, VW’s new Golf / Passat CC, Peugeot’s new 308cc, Renault’s Twingo / new Megane / Laguna with the rear wheel steering & new Laguna Coupe / new Koleos, Audi’s new A3 Cabrio / A4 / A5 Coupe / revised A6 / new Q5, BMW 1 Coupe / X6 / new 7 Series, new Honda Jazz / Accord, new Hyundai i10 / i20 / i30 / Genesis Sedan / Coupe, Infiniti any of them – they are all new to us!!!, Jaguar XF group test?, new Kia Soul, Land Rover Freelander, Mazda 2 / new 6 / revised MX-5 / RX-8 / Mercedes Benz new GLK / latest C-Class, Nissan Qashqai, Opel (Vauxhall) VXR Range / all new Insignia – a chance for Clarkson to praise them for once? it has won COTY afterall, Skoda’s new Octavia / new Superb, Volvo any of the eco “DrivE” models / new XC60… and those are just the ones I remember.
The problem is that Jeremy doesn’t want to do road tests of ordinary cars as they bore him and have no POWER. Not if you’re used to a Gallardo mate, obviously not. But its what the proletariate drive. Us mere minions. The ones paying your wages.
If you think about it, he rarely tests anything off the TopGear track. Why is that? Even the Abarth 500, he never drove it on the raods! Isn’t that what cars like that are for? B-Road blasts? Of course, if we remember that this is a man who claims he left his job in the original TopGear because he couldn’t think of a single thing to say about the Renault Clio, it begins to make sense. The sad thing is when he DOES test regular cars, he makes his reviews so honest, interesting, humourous and informative.
What is most annoying about the lack of car reviews therefore is that Jeremy seems to think it ok to subject us to the sight of the most dreary, utilitarian, ugly, upright and comical handling Chevrolet (that’ll be the Daewoo) Lacetti lumbering around the track with some so called celebrity wrestling hopelessly with the controls.
If you’re not going to test everyday cars for everyday people lads, kindly remove that steaming piece of excrement from your show line up. Oh and I thought that Will Young, gay or not, was charming ESPECIALLY compared to the utterly unengaging & dull Marky Mark. I found Will Young was animated, passionate about cars (without stealing those of other people) and entertaining in the few moments that he spent in Jeremy’s SIARPC slot. No pun.
I forgot a very important one. The VW Scirocco. The past model is a classic. This is probably a future one. One your viewers might actually be able to afford. But again, where is the review? Shame on you fellas.
I missed that episode, but im gonna watch it tonight. i woz out lst sun coz it woz my cousins b’day!
does any1 know when its repeated?
is it 2nite??
please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE TOP GEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look BBC, its simple.
If this 3 Id**ts don’t do the job, search for a German car-presenter- for the logic,
a frensh car presenter – for the sense of looks and style & flare,
And an Italian car presenter – for the soul power and feeling for the drive
all must be able to speak very good english, and have good sense of humor
That’s it!
I think this 3 feel that they are to great & un-touchable , we’ll se about that when more complaints start to blast in!

LIL SAZ – Heres what you are looking for… Tonight at 7:00pm… (Whats West? Regional?)
BBC2 West 7:00pm Wed 19 Nov
Season 12 Episode 3 of 8
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May try to make an ordinary second-hand car lap the test track as fast as a new, purpose-built sports saloon. James also meets former Formula One driver Mika Hakkinen to discover why Finns are such good drivers. Richard Hammond tests the Veritas sports car and Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car
Have to agree with a lot of what PDMC says. It’s a car progam, review cars, it’s very simple. No cars to review, really? Well what about the Mondeo, their car of the year along with the Legacy last year, neither even glanced at. Maybe they wouldn’t mind telling us why they think they are so good. I’d like to know. Doesn’t have to be the bog standard versions, drive the flasher ones (B spec for example). Make a group test of it as they have done before. It’s not as if Clarkson doesn’t review other cars anyway, read his Sun or Times columns. Not all supercars there (and his Times online column is actually better than Top Gear right now, showcasing, as PDMC eloquently put it, his honest, inventive and humorous approach).
Finally, why haven’t they been testing cars off the track recently? The last one I can remember Jeremy taking off the track was the CLK black and that was a great piece of filming. You’d have thought they’d have taken the Evo and Impreza last series somewhere different as they did long ago up to Scotland, B road cars if ever there were any.
If you want “normal” car road tests watch the inferior and plaigerising 5th gear if you are a petrol head that wants to be entertained watch top gear and stop moaning!
There seem to be a lot of complaints from a select few people… the dragon dude and japan guy mostly. Say something on topic, send all your general complaints to the producers. I read comments to see what others think of the article and do expect some constructive criticism, but this is ridiculous. (I blame that Whalberg guy, he triggered it off)
I hope there’s a ray of sensibleness in you which just hasn’t come out in you repetitions.
I don’t like to suggest this, but if you think that Top Gear should get new presenters, review almost exclusively sensible cars and stop going overboard spending our money, well, heard of fifth gear? It’s funded by adverts and everything.
And if it helps, pretend all your licence money went to pay the newsreaders salaries instead. Mine paid for them to fly to America, and I’m proud. I love that show.
(Oh, PDMC, thanks for some well structured and eloquent criticism. Hooray for sensibleness)
It’s and you are guys still the top of the range!
The highest quality product on sunday evenings and all the time when its my mind, quite daily.
….and that v8 catering stuff, hmmm, i’m a carpenter, shall I recommending to my costumers (as appliance) who’s would like to have some prope’ “progress” every morning when making juice, now they could put a whole tree and doin’ family size wooow! I like it!
To the make up lady: Keep dolling Richard up like that each week.
Stunning.
whos that “dragon king” , and why that “dragon king” visit the site and why that “dragon king” is watching anything what makes it upset?? No’ healthy m8.
Sorry am just ran over the past few comment……
Hey bobzilla, my sentiments exactly. Only more concise. (I tend to write loads, see 365)
This reply may be way off topic if so, apologies and please delete it.
A lot of posters seem to think that the reviewing of cars isn’t entertaining. I suggest going back a few series and watch Jeremy reviewing stuff like the Clio V6, the hot hatches (remember the mental Astra), the Monaro, the time when Jeremy drove a Jag to Scotland just to see if it was comfortable, their trips to The Isle of Man and Iceland. Not interesting, not likely, all of those and many more were brilliant.
I love the show but don’t want to just watch them arseing about each week. If that is what they are going to do, why not (as I originally suggested) go and get loads of wedge from BBC1 and make a big spectacular show, they could replace Ross on a Friday evening (I’d watch it). I enjoy the challenges, they are very funny, but only challenges, all the time, hmnnmm……. There’s just a lack of balance at the moment, it should be cars plus arseing, not the other way around (I should point out that I’m not complaining about the hour long specials here, the US road trip was great and the Botswana episode was truly special television). Right now, the best bit of the show is the news, which is, funnily enough, when they are all together talking and giving their views and opinions on cars.
In reply to a couple of comments above, watch Fifth Gear for boring car reviews? You’ve just made my point for me, I want interesting, funny reviews, hence I want Clarkson, May or Hammond to do them. Their views and opinions are brilliantly funny (especially when they start bickering over who’s car is best in a group test) and by not doing them they aren’t just denying me, they are denying everyone.
Talking about petrol heads who want to be entertained, don’t petrol heads love cars? If so then why would a funny, manic, flat out screamer of a car test by Clarkson et al be boring? Try going back and watch the test of the Ariel Atom and tell me that was boring. There also seemed to be the suggestion that those who want more car tests aren’t petrol heads, really? Don’t get the logic of that one. I want cars, cars, cars, cars, cars and more cars. Greedy, yes, not a petrol head? Really? For wanting more cars? Are you sure? I may well be a bit slow, but I just don’t get that train of thought, sorry.
Last one, about sending your complaints directly to the producers. Maybe I was wrong but I thought that’s what this blog is for. In the title they ask us ‘How was it for you?’ and to leave comments. That means everyone, not just the people who loved the show, but also those who were less than impressed. I was less than impressed with this and the first show because over the last 5 years I’ve seen them make such wonderful car based TV and right now, they’re only giving us 7 out 10. Perhaps they have spoiled me over the last 5 years or so (Top Gear is still the best program on TV) but they just aren’t hitting the high notes with any degree of consistency at the moment. Hope they prove me wrong next week, at which point I will gladly eat my own crow.
I just want to make something clear as I might be coming off all wrong in my posts. I don’t hate 5th Gear like some people on here do. What is that about? I don’t get it? Apart from Vicki Butler Henderson, who is a decent presenter (check out her Alfa 156 GTA test on youtube) and if memory serves an equally good motoring journalist in print, the presenters are woefully dull. Even Tiff.
No – especially Tiff. He grates on my nerves. This is mainly because he speaks in a tone that sounds like an autobox thats holding a gear for too long.
Despite all of my criticisms in above posts. TopGear is still the only thing on TV that I make it a habit to religiously watch. I wouldn’t want to see it presented by anyone but these three class acts. They all have their own inimitable charm.
I’m just worried that the show is going to be turned into a televised circus to satisfy people who call themselves petrol-heads but who don’t know their track rod end from their differential.
TopGear is NOT an entertainment show. It is not Britains Got Talent. It is a show about cars. If I want entertainment I’ll take a few Xanax and watch the X-Factor. If I want a car show I’ll watch 5thGear and TopGear. Those are both car shows. That is what the TopGear presenters are subject matter experts in. That is what they are best at. So please Jeremy, Richard & James, do not turn this show into a hybrid of, “Brainiac-Science-James May’s-Motorworld-Britain- Extreme Machines-iQ-Abuse.” I don’t watch those shows. I have no interest in them. So please do not mingle the material from those with the world’s favourite car show.
Stick to the TopGear formula. Car test, News, Taking the piss out of each other, Cool Wall, Taking the piss out of the audience, Challenge Part 1 or Epic Test Part 1 – BRIEF interview of STIARPC (if absolutely necessary), Taking the piss out of the audience, Challenge Part 2 / Epic Test Part 2, Power Lap, Bombshell conclusion.
There is something in TopGear for everyone and as long as factories turn out cars, there is plenty of life left in the format too. It doesnt get boring for car fans, because at the end of the day it IS a CAR SHOW. Please keep the focus on the cars.
P.S.: If I want a V8 blender I’ll go watch QVC. Anthony Worrell Thompson or George Foreman are bound to have one out within the week.
If it is your opinion that Top Gear should have different presenters, there is another car show with different presenters. Watch it. I never said if you only want boring reviews watch fifth gear, I said “almost exclusively sensible” as in few supercars and challenges.
I am perfectly fine with people criticising the episode, that is on topic. I found the star this week paticularly dull, but that’s different from saying Top Gear’s lost everything it ever had and all new episodes are rubbish.
Didn’t you read my last line? I said “Oh, PDMC, thanks for some well structured and eloquent criticism. Hooray for sensibleness”. To tryand encourage people who can structure arguments and have valuable opinions such as yourself. Sorry if I offended you!
I didn’t mention petrol heads, so that thing you (jobby) said that I don’t understand can’t be aimed at me…
Yes, the blog should contain criticism. But if you need to suggest that the show should be reformatted in such a major way, I thought that the producers would be the best people to tell, not just post it in a comment repeatedly. Once perhaps. “How was it for you” refered to this one episode, not Top Gear as a whole.
And I can’t quite find where it was said, but someone argued with me that Top Gear isn’t an entertainment show like Strictly or something… I don’t decide what the official classes are, Jeremy himself said it’s now officially classed as entertainment, I merely quoted it.
Read it carefully if you want to continue on anything I’ve said, my grammar is terrible.
(Sorry for writing so much)
I don’t think TopGear should have new presenters, I don’t think 5th Gear is better, I like explosions and cocking about. But I also think that TopGear is fast becoming a shadow of its former self in order to satisfy the great unwashed, and that makes me sad : (
Here’s an idea, more road tests, same number of cocking about challenges and and add a few extra episodes, same as used to be done. How hard can that be for professional motoring journalists?
Question for some posters above, boring road tests? Have you been watching the same program as me for the past 5 years? I don’t really remember a boring test that they’ve done and if you think the boys’d be boring, why are you watching the show in the first place? If you think they are funny cocking about, why wouldn’t they be funny testing stuff? Do you really think it would be less interesting than the chair thing. In itself not uninteresting, but in no way a lead off piece and 5 minutes of filler if ever there was one (as was the blender, although that made me laugh, a lot).
One last off topic question for PDMC if you’re still about. Vick Butler Henderson? Really? Not a criticism, but why? She isn’t the worst I’ll agree (Needell, Plato and the new bloke get my votes), but good? Not convinced myself. I’ve always found her reviews to be too much on the racing driver technical boring side, you know, Mansell syndrome type reporting (you can really feel the diff working in 8 different ways etc…). Tom Ford on the other hand, him I enjoy watching.
No no… Opiel16, No offence taken at all. I’m a big boy… posts on a forum don’t rattle me that much!
I did read your post and I was chuffed to see someone appreciated my points. We are very much from the same school of thought I believe. So, my last post wasn’t in response to anything you said actually. I was just ranting again. *GRINS*
I need to stress something as I set out to say it in the last post and went into a rant again.
I LOVE TOPGEAR. So don’t get me wrong. I was just worried they are losing their way is all. But I concede, it was just ONE episode. I wait with baited breath for this Sunday’s show. Even in its old format I loved Topgear (circa 1995) and I have fond memories of it from the time of the London Motorshow of ‘95 when I really sat up and paid attention to it.
@ Jonno: Yeah I like VBC… (wasn’t she also once on TopGear & I liked her back then .. when I was in my teens). I do agree she can be a bit tiresome at times when she approaches roadtests from the racing driver perspective. Saying that though, I’ve only ever watched Fifth Gear on youtube and in 2 videos that stick out in my mind, both involving the Alfa 156 I found her easy to watch. I live in Ireland so I wouldn’t necessarily watch whatever channel that is on very often. Who makes Fifth Gear anyway? Is it ITV?
Why do I write a book everytime I click into this box? Its like word vomit.. its just keeps spewing out of me. Its like a compulsion…
We (Australia) have been unfortunate enough to have our own production of Top Gear go to air….DIABOLICAL is the only word that comes to mind. Oh my God, they have no idea!
I must confess that I never paid much attention to TG when I lived in England. Here however it is the best show on tv. We have never laughed so much!! I’ve even gone and bought some of the specials on DVD.We are several years behind, series wise, but it’s still funnier than anything else we have access to.
Oh, how we miss that sarcastic wit, that the British are so renown for.
I think that SBS have come to their senses and are going to resume the British version. It only adds to the humor to see a very sevlt Jeremy and co, and see cars being reviewed that will by now be on many a scrap heap.
Thanks for the “light relief”.
What they should’ve done is reduce the amount of petrol in the car. Although, I’m no expert but I’ve seen it countless times on F1, the lighter the car, the faster you go. They should’ve only applied ONLY the amount of fuel needed for that lap and it would’ve gone a bit faster.
Where can I get the Toyota Wheelchair? Sounds fantastic!!!
Message for James after This weeks show (showing 23rd of Nov) James, please dont blow up Burford, I will have to have the kids at home all day!
Shame James couldn’t beat ‘Bill Oddie’! Can’t wait for this Sunday!
Jezza, where can I buy my ex wife a V8 Blender? What a hoot! Love the Jacket Hamster, Slow, saw you this week in the Typhoon, brilliant, P.S You didn’t throw up like Clarkson did in the F16, calls him sel a Yorkshireman, nowt but a soft southern jessie now!
Keep it up guys, it’s what Sunday night is all about!
there not just men, there TG men that drink bones brick and blood SIGH and FAINT you SOBs rule esp Richard soz just fancy him most!!
ok just read the other comments what a load of cocks you are!! if you prefer cars to comedy watch fifth gear if you realise cars are to be enjoyed you will continue to watch top gear if you against tg then take your daily mail and lock yourself in your loo and flush your boring arse down with your figures, and all other boring poop only other boring gits care about get a life if you dont like a prog dont watch it!
Name calling… how very mature. Vena, could you not think of something more constructive to say than that? This isn’t youtube where kids bicker and hurl abuse at each other, its TopGear, where adults are invited to, AND entitled to, express an opinion. Grow up.
Hi PDMC, thanks for the reply. Only watching on You Tube, might explain it. For me Tom Ford is far superior in everyway. Well, he does write for Top Gear mag and this website after all. I live over here in deepest darkest Peru with Uncle Bulgaria, so the only way to get Top Gear and Fifth Gear is via Bit Torrent.
If you haven’t already, suggest you go and check out the Final Gear website (you can get full episodes of both TG and FG from there). Far more grown up and well thought out arguments for and against, less 16 year olds who think burns outs are great and are unable to control their hormonally out of balance bodies.
There is one particularly good theory as to why the show turned out the way it did this week with Marky Marky and his un-funky bunch(see I’m old enough to know that’s what he used to call himself) not being able to get on Ross. Makes sense and would be interested to know if it is true.
rock on! lovvved the blender!
god start
