Mr Jeremy Clarkson is joining Hollywood actor Eric Bana in a new documentary all about the latter’s love of his car, a 1974 Ford Falcon Coupe nicknamed The Beast. And that’s all the intro you need. Watch the trailer:
Bana – him from The Hulk, Troy, Munich – directs for the first time on this documentary, as well as being the lead role in a film about one man’s love for his car.
So yeah, it looks a little cheesy, but it also looks like it’s going to have some good car action in it too, which is the main thing.
Clarkson chucks in his two penneth – The Mole has been informed that Jeremy and Bana are life-long friends – as Bana examines the bond between man and machine.
It’s not however Jeremy’s big screen debut, as he voiced Harv in the UK version of Pixar’s Cars movie.
Oh, did we say that Bana’s movie is called Love The Beast? All sorts of images involved with that.

get Jessica Alba as the star in the reasonably priced car
get Axl Rose!!!
I saw the add for this when I was watching the Bathurst 1000
Get Stevie Wonder
Get Eric Bana.
I’m not sure if I’ll watch that or not. Maybe I’ll wait for it to be on DVD/Bluray.
Nice, i’m really looking forward to this one…
Oh and was that Felipe Massa at one point in the trailer??
He looks a bit like Mark Webber… wonder if they’re mates?
this documentryl looks C R A P
“So 600 horse power and leaf spring, are you mad?”
cool cant wait
It will probably never come to Norway.
gay love rules
Dr. Phil? He’s worse than Mark Wahlberg!
Never knew Eric Bana was a petrolhead. He ought to be the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car sometime, especially if he and Clarkson are mates.
3 words…Love the Beast!
Cool, can’t wait for this one!!!!
Agree with Samantha in Post #13. That would be good. And probably Mr Bean too. Lol.
They are the knights of ipod era, riding a mighty horse in the metal skin.
Nice one.
Dr. Phil vs. jeremy Clarkson? gotta see.
but after watching James drifting with mika…that was a pretty boring driving style, im still going to watch it though!
This looks worthy of renting on DVD. (I had a very similar car to this one, back in my youth…)
you wot
What was that? A yank version of wrc? ROFL.
And no. I don’t want to see one more “what celebrities drive/ride/whatsoever”. And no matter how much a muscle car is ugly, it goes in corner even worse.
Looks ike a quite good Film
Get Ant And Dec On The Show
That is definitely must see tv!
Can’t wait!
TALKING OFF FLIMS HERES A SHORT ONE – http://uk.youtube.com/wat ch?v=XDPytB9nlb4 -
i own nothing by the way.
When will TG test the Gillet Vertigo…a European sports car…actually a belgian made insane car…
Come on Top Gear…Belgium isn’t only a country you have to cross to arrive in autobahn land…
Your a very under educated person Obelix. Eric Bana is Australian. The rally was Targa Tasmania (in Australia), and its a 15 year old, 7 day road rally. This is usually won by Jim Richards in a Porsche GTsomething or other, but recently Skyline GT-R’s and Gallardo’s have raced alongside WRX’s and Evo’s. It is awesome. I live in Tasmania and when im out in my mx5, on those roads, I try to imagine going twice as fast, sometimes more.
The film is not going to be a blockbuster, so please back the Hype-Wagon up right now!
@obelix: Actually that was one of the many historic road rally events that we hold down here in Oz. So what if Bana likes muscle cars, when he grew up there was very little else around – sure there’s ferrari’s and porsches but they’re expensive.
SIARPC? Hell, let’s get Bana to take the Beast round the TG test track!
yeah sure i will come on
Just like a movie trailer i WANT to watch, cant wait
Wonder if they are willing to make a Documentary about Hammond and Oliver… probably not as dramatic as this one, but it would be hilarious
intersting! I might watch that!
vic
I am curious to see Clarkson and Leno together. I’d be entertained just watching them talk about cars.
Does the movie have this? I’d pay for it then.
I agree with Adam W. It will not be a blockbuster, but will be interesting.
The Targa Tasmania is a well respected event which has wrecked quite a few nice cars over the years. Adam, was there not a Fezza F40 written off there about two years ago?
I drove a campervan on some of these roads and at one point had a flash vision of Jim Richards taking the same series of bends, and nearly rolled the van.
And, on top of that, that model Foulcan has some great heritage.
i would like to see ant and dec in the reasonably priced car it would be funny to see them 2 challaging against each other
as if americans call “petrol-heads” bloody gearheads how crap is that.
get amir khan in the reasonably priced car
I really want to see this movie. Jeremy is right about developing a relationship with a car. I always get emotionally attached to mine, like they’re faithful old horses or dogs that you love and never want to get rid of. That is one very beautiful muscle car, and I love old American muscle cars. I can’t wait to see it. Seeing Jeremy in anything is always a treat for me.
i wuld love 2 c jessica alba on the show…
she is so hot
A must see for petrolheads!
get jason statham
Get Brian May in the Reasonably Priced Car.
I know it sounds chessy but i think this is genuinely touching. i really want to see this.
@38: Yeah, but if they used the same term over there they’d be Gasheads. Might as well be glue sniffers too…
Can’t wait for this and it will be in Australia first. Finally I can see Jezza without the internet!
Anyone who does not want to watch this should not be watching Top Gear and they definately should not be visiting this website.
A must see, surely?
More F1 drivers in TRPC please.
i’ll watch it!
dunno if i’ll be able to pursude anyone to go with me though!?
“Oh and was that Felipe Massa at one point in the trailer??”
If your refering to the guy in the red cap & red shirt, that is Todd Kelly, an Aussie V8 Super Car race driver.
“And no matter how much a muscle car is ugly, it goes in corner even worse.” Obelix….you’d be rather surprised how well the Aussie muscle cars can handle….they’ve won there “era” of Targa a few times against more nimble cars…
This looks interesting…definately gona check it out when or if i can.
love the beast, it sounds like a disney rip of
get edward norton
Get Osma binladden.
I read online that they are having a premiere for this movie where everyone brings their own Beast. People’s premiere it said. Hope I can go in my crapbox!
i love you
Sorry though I’d love to appear I’m a little “holed up” at the moment.
In response to comment #13- its not yanky racing its Targa Tasmania- he’s just drving an american car.. and there’s some pretty serious racing down under- claimed the life of Peter Brock- and Melbourne is one of the favs amongst the F1 drivers- although not a great spectator track.
Point being it might be a good flick!
And watch out for the biopic of Maclaren -coming soon- how a Kiwi driver inspired one of the biggest names in motor racing!
Apologies- actually meant comment #22
Mad Max goes racing?
How about Osama Bin Laden in the reasonably priced car????????
now that’s a true petrolhead. loving his car with its own faults & committing to bringing up to speed again. a must-see definitely. JC should put him in the Lacetti. rating’s gonna go off the charts.
i wonder how stupid clarkson will be, who is mad enough to work on a film with him
no offence JC but you do mess about quite a lot, bit like me at school
What the hell are you guys on?
Can you not tell the difference between a yank and Aussie accent? And how could anyone get Massa and Todd Kelly mixed up is just hilarious, they look nothing alike and sound nothing alike.
And of course the car doesn’t look much in the curves, it was built in the 70’s and not much handled back then! (Compared to today)
Eric Bana is a massive petrolhead, he’s done Targa Tasmania a couple of times and Classic Adelaide a couple of times. Both brilliant events, Classic Adelaide’s on at the moment actually. Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche all usually send classic cars from their factory collections to compete and it attracts classic racers from around the world. Sir Jack and Stirling Moss have both been over at least once to drive it.
Same type of beast as Mad Max`s ïnterceptor”.
I love these brutes. 351 cubic inch monster.
I owned one back in 1984; XC Coupe full house wep
What it boils down to is that those of us with petrol running through our brains will look at this and sigh with happiness. Bana has touched on a nerve, that communion with man and machine- Jezza’s crack about owning an Alfa springs to mind.
Bana’s Beast is his link to innocence, but even more it’s a friend. I know, cars don’t have feelings because they’re metal, right? I think they have personalities and soul, though… I mean, when was the last time you made a crack about something in your car and then she decided to respond?
Ask my Audi A4 about that- a mate made a comment about the mysterious sunroof gremlin (it likes to open randomly without any input from me) and she got mad and started blinking her ABS warning. No issues with the car, she was just showing her irritation.
Now that’s soul.
A crap documentary about a crap car. ZZZZZZZzzzzZZZ
hey people im from Australia and i love my fords and i love Eric banas car because its a ford Go fords they are the best cars
No bullshit just straight talk about someones love for something that gives so much joy. It not weird its not strange and unless you have the same feeling for something like it you will never understand.
Came accross the trailer for this by mistake the other day, and it looks brilliant, yes it’ll be a bit cheesy, but if you’ve ever owned a real car, you’ll understand the love, the hate, the passion and the sheer pleasure of creating a “Beast”, giving something souless a soul, giving something made from metal a personality.
i’m gonna love this movie
I reckon that Damon Hill is the stig….. after much thought and a convincing story on youtube hehe. Brilliant show though love it
I know this is an older post but I just had to share.
I watched the preview, decided I wanted to see the website for more info and just got firewalled by my work. Apparently lovethebeast.com was misconstrued as something else. Oh well.
I’m also glad to see that there are other Aussies out there who are prepared to tell the ignorant the facts of life.
