I think it’s going to be a great episode.Top Gear for ever.

This season is really looking good so far. Last weeks ep was a tad on the weak side for TG, bu compared to everything else on TV it is just so far beyond all others.

Its good to see james finally starting to come out of his shell and show off a bit

Lol he ain’t captain slow no more. the nickname Eeyore May works though XD Can’t wait for this episode

As for James doing the power test this week, all I can say is ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!!!!!

We all know that Captain Slow is more than capable of doing much greater speeds than he usually does, so it’s going to be great to see him achieve something on Top Gear that has always been the domain of Jezza and Hamster.

I went to the filming last Wednesday – I wish I could go again -it was a blast. V6 Smoothie yuck!
One unexpected bonus was popping down to the local Pub in Dunsfold called the Sun Inn. A great spot for a bite before the show. They do a great Steakburger and are all ready to get you back to the Studio in time for the filming.
It seems they do picnics for the crew when they are on the track and JC is very partial to the chefs scotch eggs. They are not on the menu and if you want they you gotta ring 2 days ahead!
Amazing what you can discover when chatting to the barman.

May be we have to change james nickname to “Captin Courageous” as he can be safe most of the time but when the speed demon calls be can be courageous enough to fight the challange and become lightning quick

The more I think about it, the more I think Captain Go sounds the best so far.

I know what you mean, Islington, but for doing power tests, he’ll have to have a new nickname, he’ll be Cptain Slow most of the time tho. To be honest, I think it suits him more to drive slow, but it’ll makea nice change for him to be obsessed with ‘Powerrrrr!!!!!’

Yeah Danni, Jezza does always do most of it, but thats cos he’s the big boss man, Jezza IS Top Gear, the other two give the show a bit of class, and something for us girls 2 look at, but it’ll always be Jezza’s baby.

It would be sad if James stopped being called “Captain Slow”. Several of my friends have bizarre nicknames that they’ve all started to outgrow, and it’s depressing. Nicknames should be for life! Take that, Muffin, Mormon, Taco, Billy & Bob, Face, and Spaghetti! You’ll always be your nicknames to me. Same goes for Captain Slow.

I agree, he should keep the Captain part of his nickname, but like thecarenthusiast said, he is also known as ‘Captain Sense Of Direction’, so he doen’t just have one nickname anyway.

I think ‘Captain Go’ or ‘Captain Quick’ or something along those lines.

Captain Slow seems to be turning into Captain Kirk, for all this travelling at warp speed he’s been doing lately Fortunately, he’s unlikely to need a toupee, and a belly honestly earned through pies and beer doesn’t require a corset either!

But the show sounds great and I’m looking forward to it. Unlike Jeremy’s V8 smoothie, all the ingredients sound good and I can’t wait to see what James makes of the Zonda.

I can’t wait to see James in a Pagani!! I’ve sat in one at MPH and it was fantastic (ok it was stationary but for the sake of it, it doesn’t matter lol). You feel special in it that’s a fact and I’m sure he had a great time in it.

Captain Slow, hm it might not be accurate anymore but I still like it. Maybe make him The Captain? Fits like a charm to me!

Captain Clarkson should be james new name as he seems to be beeting him at everything these days , over taking , drifting and ideas to make a avantine faster and you cant forget the 253mph blitz of the veyron in 2007 … it appears jeremy clarkson is the slowest out of the 3

It would be captain slow thou.. since Jeremy tests the Zonda F in his new ‘Thriller’ DVD. Cant wait for May’s review i think he is such an underated asset to the show and his test will surely prove it. hope all the silly and cheesy humour which can go on and on is down to the minimum. you know the point where jeremy may crack a joke, and then tries adding to the joke and generally killing it along with hamster although this is usually during the news section

Some brilliant suggestions coming thru for Captain Slow’s new nickname, I lik StigsScottishCousin’s suggestion of Captain Sisu, leading on from his interview with Mika last week.

Maybe it might be an idea to see exactly how good or bad James manages to do his first power test before deciding on a final nickname, you never know, he might cock it up big time.

Bet he doesn’t tho, he’s a brilliant driver, I bet he makes a better job of it than Jezza, and will probably be able to walk away from it without needing a physiotherapist!!!!

I think Captain Slow’s nickname shouldn’t change but if it has to it should be Capain Not So Slow. James will always be the more slower driver of the three, the other two are so much more competitive they will always fall over/trip up/crash into one another in order to win but james drives slower and always gets there in the end. Just like the tortoise! And we all love him for it.

Do you know what? A lot of people think that James is the Stig, but he isn’t the right shape, or height, for that matter. Doesn’t mean that he couldn’t be A Stig tho, does it? When they are out and about – I mean, look when they took on their German rivals???
