Eire we are

The opening night of Top Gear Live in Dublin was a riot. The lads were all suffering with man-flu but that didn’t seem to matter when they hit the stage.

Clarkson opened the show with, ‘welcome to the first night of our world tour. Tonight it’s Dublin then we go to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Basically all the countries we used to own…’

The crowd was amazing too, and they even spontaneously chanted footy songs during car football.

And once it was all over the guys retired to a well known Dublin nightspot where Clarkson and Hammond couldn’t resist taking over the house band’s drums and bass for a set of dad-rock covers. Considering it was unplanned, it didn’t sound half-bad.

So, a good night all round. If you were there, let us know what you thought. And thanks to Dublin from the TG team for such an incredibly warm welcome.

What do you think?

Hi Guys
Myself and my hubby and kids couldnt make your dublin shows as we were busy getting married. However I just wanted to say we did get along to your book signing and I was very touched at how nice you guys were to my 6yr old boy Joe. He wore his €9.00 red and white leather effect jacket with SPEED on it and Richard admired it and it made Joe’s day. Im sure you can understand, when your kids hero is nice to them – you cant help but worship them. Joe has a Richard haircut and we got superb unposed natural stills of you guys taken by my husband who’s a great photographer. To add to the magic of that particular weekend, we were staying the night in The Four Seasons too (I won a voucher in a raffle!)and as we tied Joe’s shoelaces in the corridor, James said Hi and was very pleasant to us…Joe was blown away by meeting Captain Slow. Anyway, months later we just wanted to say thanks for making the effort to squeeze out the pleasantries despite your pale exhausted faces. We really appreciated it and Joe wont forget it. Keep up the wonderful work and soldier on there. There’s very little else good on the tv these days…oh yeh we like the programme by James on his booze trip. Didnt get to see him drink cider. Hope it wasnt ugly. Best regards to all the Top Gear Crew. The McCarthy Family, Dublin.
