The Mole is cold at the studio, but things are underway for Top Gear Rehearsals. Man flu seems to be doing the rounds but it’s not proving to dampen anyone’s spirits. Always a good sign of the show to come!
We’ve had glimpses of what’s coming up in today’s show; some Communist cars, a politician around the track, Hammond doing a power test on some bonkers German machine with one seat, and The. Most. Mad. Car. Test. Ever. On Ford’s new Fiesta.
Anyway, come back here later where we’ll bring you some gossip, intrigue and no doubt swearing from the show recording.

Keenly looking forward to Sunday because, confession, I like Boris Johnson. DOn’t ask me why because I couldn’t tell you myself. He reminds me of James (May) – it’s not that floppy hair on his bonce and James May’s, it’s not their “looks” because..ahem, moving on…and it’s definitely despite not because of their fashion sense…but…they just seem to have this quality of likeability about them, a sort of quintessential ‘nice bloke’ component?? Plea to Jeremy: remind Boris of all his campaign promises to make London safe for normal, sane, sensible people not eco-terrorists and associated lunatics and tell him to get on with it!
Also, what is *with* James this series? First he discovered what an accelerator was; then we had Jeremy’s shocked, “you’re being horrid!” as he showed a hint of right-back-at-yah to Big Shouty – and now the photo above shows him…with an iPod? James ‘can’t work a toaster?’May? Andy Wilman should get Hamster to keep him talking and send Jezza to look for the Pod…maybe he has been taken over by The Stig after all?
Best wishes in getting over man flu – I’m not surprised given they have to film the place in a draughty warehouse with complementary damp and mould – it’s a miracle half the crew aren’t always down with the flu, consumption, pleurisy and pneumonia.

I agree with you, James_Lover, (comment 15) It is not an Ipod, it’s a studio wire, which they receive messages down from the ‘back room’. For some reason, he seems to often wear these with the wires showing, especially on location (see ‘Best Driving Road’ when he thought there was something wrong with his car).
Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but only Hammond wears a wire when filming with the studio audience, is that somethng to do with his poor short-term memory???
Anyway, this sunday’s show sounds good, looking forward to it. The lads have all got man-flu? Haven’t we all!!!!!!!!!!!

They were only 50 Peel P50 ever made so if you want one it will cost you a lot for such a little car. Prices start at 10.000 pounds.
Looking forward to another new episode of Top Gear, only 3 to go before the series ends, what are we going to do when its all over! Sundays will never be the same , until the next new series begins, suppose we’ll just have to watch
repeats to get our fix.

I have very fond memories of the Ford Fiesta XR2 from many, many, many years ago. I especially loved that it scored a quicker 0-60 than the DeLorean, but that’s just me being perverse.
Over here in the States, the Fiesta has been getting stellar reviews as well.
I could see getting one for my in-town runabout, if the Alfa Romeo Mi.To GTA doesn’t make it over quickly enough…

Hiya chaps get well soon, i have all the sympathy in the world for you guys,as ive been really ill withthis dam flu bug thingy for 3 weeks now, and ive had enough cold and flu tablets drinks etc to sink a ship!
Im still suffering but not as bad, just remeber to drink lots of hot drinks and wrap up nice and warm!
I suppose the majority of the population has a bug of some sort (shouldn’t the government declare an epidemic then?). I’ve had something for atleast 3 weeks and the past few days have been the worse. I have tried not to retire to bed and bundle myself up in layers, because then I tend to feel worse and it’s certainly one of the worse things to do if you have a fever like I’ve had.
To jclax1 (#35) Shouldn’t you guys be used to it by now. I thought that it was always cold up North during the winters.
