It’s still freezing down at the studio, so the production team have cranked up the massive space heaters up between takes just to keep us moving.
The punters aren’t bothered though – feels like we’ve never seen so many people down here and they’re doing a pretty good job of keeping the cold out.
Unlike Clarkson. He’s lost his voice, which is affecting things a bit as far as presenter duties go, but Hammond has stepped in to do the talking. And ribbing. And what’s that on May’s face? You can wait until Sunday for the answer to that.
Speaking of Richard, that odd German car we talked about him power testing earlier is the Veritas. He reckons it might be a cooler alternative to Caterham’s R500 – it certainly looks the part, and its BMW M5 power unit made plenty of smoke on our test track, too.
This week’s Star in a Reasonably priced car, as you might have read in the papers, is London Mayor Boris Johnson. We’re
not going to give anything away about his slightly wayward lap, but expect a few crikeys and plenty of clumsy amusement.
And that just leaves a film about the new Fiesta. That one’s another secret – even The Mole hasn’t seen it yet – but it’s over ten minutes long so expect a bit more than a simple old-fashioned road test…

I thought it was the engine from the M3 and not the M5 as quoted above.
