One Show Hammond

Posted by The Mole at 4:48 pm on Wednesday January 14, 2009

Word reaches us from The One Show – literally, as they work downstairs from us – that Mr Richard Hammond will be on their telly program this evening.

(You can watch it here on the old iPlayer.)

To be honest, they talk so loudly down there we can hear every word. Every stupid ringtone and every TV clip they put on turned up to 11. But we’re ok about it, honest.

Anyway, Hammond’s on tonight to talk about his new Saturday night gameshow, Total Wipeout. And, according to the noise pollution, they’re also doing something about inventions that changed the world, so we expect Richard’ll probably squeeze a car in or two for that one.

So, if you’re a fan of Hammond’s, then you’ll be wanting to tune in to BBC One at 7pm to see what he has to say for himself…

Watched it. It’s surprising the amount of ‘nothing’ the BBC can cram and pack into some half-hour shows. I was more fascinated with the history of the bog! Anyway, Richardo was on top form as usual, eyes lighting up at the prospect of talking about (TW) Total Wipeout, although the show turned into the (still much lamented) other T.W. – Tomorrows World towards the end. They may as well have been talking about a Deep Core Borer; which could carve out underground vaccum pumped human transportation tubes (like on Futurama) and so defeat the longevity of the car…. ‘Crapper’ than I expected.

Inventions that changed the world! Can’t commend that series highly enough; well due for a re-run!! What could we say has changed the world?

The phonogram (is it?) – music/records
    The photograph
    The pen
    The internet!
    A/C Electricity – nicola tesla!
    Dynamite
    Gun Powder
    X – Rays
…and yes, of course, the toilet.

OMG I laughed so much. Adrian gets revenge on Jeremy and Richard’s crap diversion away from the question of driving tests. “Look! A fire!” ROFL!!
Blue Peter was very good too even though it was rather short.

The BBC is running low on money if it has to rely on this kind of cash grab TV. Do you know what I’d LOVE to see again? The BBC has over 24 hours worth of live footage; which it could broadcast for FREE. The 1992 formula one world championships – the one with Mansell and Senna. TV GOLD if ever I saw it. Much missed.

    Ref comment 11:
“He does stuff for under 12’s and over 18’s.” Do you really think so?
Where would you put Total Wipeout? Where would you put TG?

I’d say Total Wipeout is for under 12s and TG……

…….well, these days that’s for kids, too, these days.

Doing Blast Lab is great, since that’s aimed squarely at children.
But doing Total Wipeout? That’s just not on. What’s the demographic for that show? I’ve said it before, if you like that show you really shouldn’t be allowed out on your own.

Just chasing ratings, that’s all. I just wonder of there’s anything, any show he has turned down.

That rant got a bit too much for me. I need to go for a lie down.

I really should proof my comments/rants better.

Once a young couple driving a car in the countryside tried out an impropriate way of having sex during driving. Of course they ended up of the road. Unfortunate the man was stuck in the wreck. The shocked girlfriend decided to run for help at a nearby farmsted. Just fairly covering her vip-entrance with one of her boyfriends shoes she met a local farmer. She emediatly asked him for assistance to pull her boyfriend out. He then looked carefully at her for a while and answered. -Hell, no he is way to far up!

I’m just reading the TV quick and it’s not good. One of the angry british public has sent in a complaint about total wipeout. Insane if you ask me. Who wouldn’t want to watch the gorgeous richard hammond presenting a totally crazy gameshow? Wierdo. Anyway, you’re probably not even going to read this message but oh well. loving both show’s (not the one show, sorry. What? You find it really boring when you’re 12.) and I am OBSESTED with Top Gear. I got the book this year too! Bye The Mole, Richard, Jezza, James(captain slow, not anymore!) and the Stig. xxxxx (2 of them is for hammond)
