This is Jeremy sat in our TG office. He’s about to embark on one of those properly useful consumer tests we sometimes do on Top Gear.
And Richard and James are going to help. Full details at this point are sketchy, but we do know this one’s definitely aimed at viewers with a crisp new driving licence.
The boys needed some office internet time for a bit of cheap car shopping – and the infamous white coat/gold envelope delivery from the producers tells us there’s a challenge or two.
Any other clues? The Mole has seen pictures of wild interior retrims and a bit of camping. Like we said, properly useful consumer stuff.

Its a chav challenge… Its about buying a small car and pimping it so it looks like it belongs in 80s Disco and how slow they can get it by adding silly loud exhausts and Big Alloy wheels that are much more heavy than the standard wheels. lol

It will be interesting to see what they have come up with for the new series, if they’ve got consumer advice aimed at people who’ve just recently passed thier test I’d imagine it would be the best car to buy for your first one. Mine’s a Vauxhall Corsa and I think it’s fab.

I would luv to see the guys doing an interior remodelling challenge, see what they all come up with would be funny tbh a bit like wen clarkson remodelled the interior of a mercedes c class with concrete and a wood burning stove, that was hilarious, if you havnt seen it its a must watch.

I would love, if they d take another go at an endurance race, like the Britcar they did.(i want to see where the Arse-Biscuit car would finish, if they d take a second go at it, seriously).Or send Jezza Hammond and May on a track day, in one of their own cars, (which they need to modify by themselves,within a week) or have them locked up in a mobile home, while Darth Stigious is driving a Paris-Dakkar route with it. Or race the orient express in Oldtimers.Let them do a workday at a car sales or a Garage.
I also want to see the “Knight VX” on the track, and Lewis Hamilton on a dry and clean one 
Test newer Toyotas for their build Quality, and compare them to the Hilux. Do a Horsebox race around a Horse track, try to cross the Himalaya in a Car,or whatever. But pleeeeeeease, don t let me wait so long .Oh wait, i could build a Caterham within the next 10 days.and then die with a smile on my face, without even seeing one Episode of the new series.=P
Or let them build an Armored vehicle, and test, how well that fares.(i smell a DVD in that alone,LOL)Let them have a medieval contest in cars, or design what is,(in their mind) a green vehicle. Soo many ideas,i could plan the next season

lidl is the new halford a year ago i saw a huge exuast for a £5 bargin. mabey top gear should buy cars of the web with loads of mods then take them all of do some challanges and see who gets the biggest profit when they sell them.
you can’t compare 5th gear and top gear because they are totally different prograns 5th gear is all about the facts and top gear is about having a laugh .
ps:in a fifth gear episode early this year on one of there tables there was a top gear magazie and top gear used the fifth gear studio shorley they could’t do that without being related in some way.

A challenge for new drivers is more than over due! I had the shock of my life recently when chatting to some students about their driving tests and what surprises they had once they hit the road for real: really worrying how many of them had no idea of the difference between high and low beam, knew what the two small, powerful lamps low down in the bumper are for and when and where to switch them on and off, know how and where to refill windscreen-washer fluid, and know what traction control is and the practical implications/benefits thereof.
All I know is I’m in no disillusion on how far to stay away from new drivers on the road (especially if they’re right behind me or approaching head on in the dark), and that despite the exorbitant driving school fees my children will not drive until they’ve completed the infamous ‘dad’s driving school’ and mastered the basics of courteous and attentive driving.
Will be interesting to see how Jeremy and the boys deal with these…

Who else saw the Stig photocopying his helmet (ooh-err) behind the hamster? There were 55 bars of gold bullion on the desk in the background, Capt. Slow had a picture of the Queen on his desk, Jezza one of Will “let’s open a soft furnishings shop” Young and one of a cow for the Hamster??!?!? Down to the packet of pearl drops on Richard’s desk, the boys from TG are well and truly having a laugh with the detail they put into the show! Top stuff, Top Gear! (Can you shout me a couple of tickets for the show so I can jump the online queue please???)
I started watching Top Gear because I caught a bit of a challenge on Dave when flicking through the channels. Then I started to watch it often because I found the challenges pretty awesome. I was watching whole shows at a time and so I began to learn more about cars. And now I adore them. I think they’re brilliant. Well, most of them. Sadly I’m only fourteen and so can’t drive. My friends find me odd because I keep on about Top Gear and cars and so on. Everyone else thinks I’m wierd because I’m a girl who likes cars. But people don’t get that I don’t think like a girl. I can’t help it. I abhor makeup and grooming constantly and like more boyish stuff. But I stray from my point. If it wasn’t for Top Gear, I would still hate cars. And that is just stupid.
