Another US fan here – I’m going to download it. I wish I could find a copy with the commercials in it too so it would really feel like I’m watching in the UK.
I don’t feel too badly about downloading it because BBCA cuts out a lot of the original show and I want to see EVERY SINGLE MINUTE! Besides, my Tivo will record it when it does air on BBCA anyway, so I’m still supporting TG for the hometeam.

Back to the Stig. For our fellow watchers from abroad, if you don’t know, Stig’s identity was outed many months ago and confirmed by the man who is the Stig. I’ll not mention his name for those that don’t know. I just want to know if anyone has heard anything of a new Stig as the last time a Stig was revealed, he was killed off most spectacularly, driving from a war ship to his doom in the ocean.

A copy WITH commercials? I do hope that was a typo. We have no commercials during programmes on the BBC. Viva la Beeb… Shame it costs us £150.00 per year in tv licence but Top Gear and Attenborough programmes alone are worth it.

Your best bet is to check out BBC iplayer. They show the programmes in all its glory but with some expletive words beeped while the mouth is blurred. GO GO GO

I know I’ll be able to download it one way or the other next week. I’d rather not pirate it… but I’m not patient enough to wait if it takes them a year to release it in the US.

Pirate is the only way if your country doesn’t show it in all its unedited glory like we see it. The only way around it is to start a mass campaign that will enable your country to view this fabulous programme as we see it. That mean viewing it on a channel without adverts. Do you pay for a tv licence? We do and for that privilege we have no adverts on BBC.

I’m from the Orkney Islands of the North of Scotland where one of their epic races finishes…. My sister says she saw the film crew in a helicopter overhead… And I missed it all as I live in Ireland!! Dammit…… I knew I should’ve gone home for my holidays…. Still, saying that, we do have some amazing scenery up there… I hope they enjoyed their stay…:)

#57 MustangTrotski – No Commercials on BBC??? Just another reason everything is better in the UK. Top Gear on BBCAmerica lasts an hour, but it’s really only 40 minutes of program because there’s about 20 minutes of commercials they have to cram in there. So stuff’s always cut, like the news, part of the challenges and sometimes the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
And we pay $480 a year (£290) for this privilege. Freakin’ *$%#!!!!

Top Gear 13 is coming out soon. Specifically in an hour as of right now. I’m so excited. It sounds a bit sad I know. Actually it sounds very sad now that I think about it but after considering the timeless hours I have spent laughing my head off at their stupidity,-it’s completely uncanny.

There are rumours that the stig is going to be outed by Jeremy Clarkson. Or someone from the crew. I can tell you now that part of me is very sad. I love the idea of there being an omnipotent driving god (or goddess) better than me, and that he or she will continually honour and respect the art of cars as well as being the best at driving.

Or maybe it’s a new female presenter? Bloody hell I cant wait. My fingers are twitching. I don’t know exactly when I became a tg addict but I don’t regret that day at all. I would love to have my own adventures that the boys have had. I see myself as a bit of all three. Hammond is young like myself. Jeremy loves power and is extremely passionate about cars. James (my idol) is a careful yet precise worker who silently soldiers on despite the enormous amount of childish stupidity that surrounds him.

TG for me is an escape from real life. For them as well I believe tg is an escape. It’s an escape and a chance to act out childish car fetishes if you like. Seriously half the stuff they have done on the show is simply legendary. Right now as I type this I wish my statistics coursework was as easy to explain and write. It’s weird. I know more about Top Gear than I know about my exam dates. I know more about tg than about standard deviation.

That’s the problem with this nation. We ignore the most important things for an escape. I have read many news reports leading up to this moment. There is a race involving Jeremy Clarkson, Hammond and may in a train a bike and a car I think. Due to the credit crunch their antics had to be downsized. There’s also the panamera ridden by may and Hammond vs. Clarkson- no wait, for once it’s a race that doesn’t involve them all.

It’s actually vs. them and a postcard/ some form of letter. The race takes place from one part of the uk to the other-north to the south. The panamera is a fat arse car. It’s ok just not my thing. When they were transporting the panamera up the Chinese tower thing for its exhibition for this massive display, the car looked like an average American in a small matchstick box.

It could barely fit. I don’t know exactly what will happen in my future. I may screw up my life completely and do drugs, have sex with lesbians and piss on cemeteries as part of my silent revenge. Or perhaps becomes an oxford graduate. Either way I know there will always be one thing that will stay with me. Memories of my childhood and all those happy, immature hours I have spent in front of the old box wasting away whilst watching top gear. Those 3 oddly dressed middle men will never know how they have affected my life. They have inspired me to hopefully be-one day a true petrol head. A person who is one with their car, a bountiful friendship like the one an old friends shares. Cars are for the mature an immature. Mature enough to be taken seriously. Immature enough to spark fantasies.

We do get to have first look at the ones the Aussies make though which is great for us as they’ve got the only profitable bit of General Motors there and those guys keep us happy with that wonderful piece of kit we know of as the Holden Commodore. Up there in the over-populated bits you get wee samples badged Vauxhall VXR (I think) so you can see why the aussies still manage to help keep the General’s flag flying.. Anyhow to my point.. I’ve just finished watching a re-run of the Reliant Robin Space Shuttle episode.. It becomes glaringly obvious why motor journalists have T.V. shows & magazines, & NASA makes space rockets..
What I found even more amusing was Jeremys test of the Brabus V12 Mercedes.. The comments he made about too much torque & horsepower, like this was a new concept in motoring,are why I’m spending my night writing this babble. See, down here at the bottom end that idea is relatively accepted, after all New Zealanders do that overkill thing without any thought that it may be looked at as excess

called Ian Taylor a Car salesman & motorsport fanatic who several years ago was the first guy in Wellington (our capital city) to buy the, then new Dodge Viper. the story goes that he was quite happy with his American ’super-car’ until someone else in town had the nerve to copy his stance and got one. So, our man, instead of flicking his ride and moving on to some other brand of far too powerful, overpriced, and totally impractical transport weapon, figures the only thing to do to retain his ‘fastest wheels in town’ moniker, is supercharge the already overpowered hotrod he had.. The result of all this making that Brabus V12’s 700 & whatever horsepower engine look entirely anaemic.. you see he ended up not with all that power measured (as they like too at tuning shops) at the crankshaft. But instead he was achieving similar figures at the rear tyres!!! so please guys if something that looks silly because it’s TOO powerful (what?) pokes its nose out of those project nutcase tuners up there in pollution land, get hold of a mechanic down here, we do monumentally crazy with our bacon & eggs at breakfast.. and then start on the ‘how to make it faster’ stuff as a boring workday..
