I think that the SITRPC should stay, but not do it every episode – then perhaps you could fit in more films made throughout the year. Then, when you do the interviews they’re a bit more special and people will probably take more notice of them.

Saying that mind, really enjoyed Brian Johnson tonight – what a legend! And the dinosaurs were random but still cool, they should be part of the crew. =P

Thank you TG! Best show for years (did you listen to us?). There was easily enough humor and silliness, but it was also about cars!! Great car review (even with recycled ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ footage!), awesome guest (with proper car talk!) and a really good challenge that was funny, entertaining, informative and you didn’t have to wreck a beautiful classic (which I though you would).

Absolutely spot on!! The casual non-car loving viewer may have found it not as exciting as a tank blowing up an Evo, but I though it was Top Gear back as it should be.

10/10 – please remember this episode when making the next series!!

Haven’t realy like siarpc this series, (Fry was good, Schummi was agreat guest but didn’t drive it)before to nite i’d of said ditch it or get a new car and bring back, Young Kay ect, tonites was great a proper car lover not someone sell somit.
Tonite’s show was brilliant rally could of been a summer special, would of liked to of seen more.
Hoping we will still get to see the airport transport racing at some point.

Enjoyed each segment but didn’t see the point in wasting money on the dinosaur CGI or the bint with James.

Bloody magnificent. Top Gear just keeps getting better and better. Perfect balance between power tests and cocking about. Absolutely loved it.

OMG! Im from Haydon Bridge, and drive over the Alston road every week! Brian Johnson is a ledgend. and the rest of the show was superb. Its a pity its the last one next week.

Clarkson is so of full shit. He doesn’t actually have a clue what he is talking about.

But on the other hand, he never had. This all about entertainment, and as such I give this a score of 6/10.

i LOVE top gear and think tonights show was the best one so far! i didnt think i would say this when i read in a paper that a glamour model would be on the show but the model Madison Welch was actually great! she was obviously STUNNING but she had a great sense of humour and very good comedic timing. she definitely knew what she was doing and fair play to her! love it this week guys, this series hasnt been the best but tonights show was top! couldnt stop laughing at hammond with the midget either! nice one

The cars were bang on although I would have had the red cortina. brian johnson.. great interview, totally surprised about the new z4, bet the sales go up with that.. you certainly gave it praise. i seen a few 370z’s and i hated the look until i saw the white one that took the lap…. looked great.

Sooooo funny i just loved the “love story” theme it was brilliant! James seems to be getting some great things to do and he is very very funny with it i think!

Loved the show!!! Everything in it just worked somehow… Dinosaurs, flowers and diamontes on James’ helmet and the auction. Brian Johnson was also brill and funny as hell!!

The 370 is a fantastic car, loved it when it went round the track. BMW not bad either.

That will go down as a vintage topgear in years to come. I laughed my head off literally from start to finish.

If I may make one point though, while I love the challenges, and I really do love them, I feel that the cheap car challenges are being slightly over done and it made the last few seem a bit less special. I know it must be getting more and more difficult to keep coming up with fresh ideas, but I’m not sure that there has to be a challenge in every episode.

Back to tonights episode though, majestic. 10/10. Thanks lads.

They’re the new life-size animatronics being used for the new ‘Walking With Dinosaurs Arena Tour’ so they would’ve actually been at the track!

Best of the series so far! Loved everything about it, even the dinosaurs, which I thought would be gimmicky with no substance. The rally was priceless and what a fantastic SIARPC. Sad to think there’s only one left this series. Loved it

Those animatronic dino’s were bloody amazing, I mean you could tell they were anima rather than CGI – but my god there creepily good. Is it possible to have an uncanny valley for Dino’s I wonder…

Anyway! The show as a whole was damn good (disagree with Clarkson about the Z4 looking good since I was actually queezy the other day when I had one drive in front of me across a red light), must admit I was rather uncomfortable with some of Hammond’s height jokes personally but hey – if the guy himself was ok with it then who am I to judge? James in an old Citroen Peasant-mobile was pure gold. Hammond in a Lanchester was good as well, and as for Clarkson in a Midget – the only term appropriate is LOL. Was also nice to see a good old fashioned BTC style David and Goliath duel between the Midge’ and the ’stang. I imagine there’s going to be a few yank tank lovers who will get annoyed by that bit, but most will love it like everybody else.

Oh and lay off the poor old Morris Marina owners club – its not funny to poke fun at the mentally deficient (Says a guy who almost bought an Ital to learn to drive in/crash.)

Sorry but it wasn’t a great show in my view.

I enjoyed the Z4/370Z review, and the dinosaurs were kinda cool. At least you didn’t try and race one of them. I just wish you’d get a second presenter driving one of the other cars, so we can hear their thoughts. Group tests are always the best reviews TG does.

News wasn’t great tbh. Very forgettable.

SIARPC was good. Lots of car take, no plugging of new films and a good lap to boot.

Only bit of the rally I enjoyed was when they were buying their cars. The rest of it was pretty dull tbh. I didn’t see the point in having a co driver Jezza couldn’t understand. James made a few funny remarks, as did his co driver. Hammond was a bit ham fisted at times.

Sorry guys, but it was another poor show. This series so far you’ve only had two good shows.

Please, please, please can we have more car reviews and less cocking about. The balance is out of sync atm and TG’s not as much fun as it once was

Excellent episode, they’ve been getting better since episode 4. Loved James May’s Ami, and it was good to see that they all kept the cars they’d bought! Not sure if I missed something, but there seemed to be something to do with the new Scenic on the ‘rehearsals/live recording’ photo gallery, this didn’t appear to materialise in the actual show. Still, a brilliant episode – full of cars, full of fun, and a definite classic TG! This will be the next favourite for Dave to be repeating 24/7!

This show was back to TopGear as it should be- the best thing on telly.

Why? Because it wasn’t forced, there was no pointless destruction to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and it was… wait for it… about CARS!!

I liked the way you even explained why you test supercars the whole time at the beginning… it’s almost as if you read these and have addressed the problems. Then again, we could just have got lucky as I’m guessing the shows are planned way in advance?

Anyway, however it was you remembered how to make TopGear, keep remembering. Perfect car television, and yes you will have bored a couple of idiots to tears… but good!! I loved it and by the looks of things it seems most other TopGear website users did too. Well done chaps, it took a while but you’ve found the spark again : )

Awsome Fantastic Best Thing On TV Leave It That Way.

Absolutely 100% back on track. After the dire mush that was episode #4, the vast improvement that was #5, this episode was full-on, in-your-face, classic TG. In fact, for me, this is up there with the best shows from previous series.

A great car test, fabulous star, and, in the words of James May – ‘a properly good challenge.’

Birdy (#72) has it nailed as to why we’ve all loved this one – for a while there, I thought you’d blown it but you’ve put a big smile on millions of TG fans’ faces tonight, I’m sure.

The Lancia S4 Delta what a car, one of the best rally cars EVER made along with the Stratos of course.

Pretty good – one of the better ones this series. Can’t see how the dinosaur CGI was worth the cash, I’d have preferred a bit longer with the two cars to be honest. News was okay – Brian Johnson pissin on Sputnik was excellent and if the challenge was scripted (had my doubts about the auction), it was a *lot* less obvious than recent ones.

Not an all time classic, but so much better than recently – well done! )

last nights show was 10/10 guys weldone! i am sure Madison will get women calling her this-and-that but i actually like her! i could imagine the ammount of models given her job and they would have been A LOT worse but i feel she is actually very clever and she was told to play-on the whole blonde, model thing. she did her job very well. bring more madison. the dwarf was great too and i liked the dinosaurs, may not have been necessary but i liked them! oh and i was at the studio when top gear filmed it and James and Madison looked very close indeed so i can definitely say they were given a breifing before filming in Majorca. she was really nice actually and flawless in real life. Oh god it was good! Loved the car rewievs and the race was epic. And a pig plus for dinosaurs.

Simply wonderful episode! Favourite this series (as a whole), but loved the train / bike / car challenge in episode one to bits too.

Challenge this week was inspired, to hell with all the PC brigade, this one dealt them a firm blow, if you didn’t find this one funny, you’ve no sense of humour.

I really enjoyed it.

Thought the dinosaur bits were superfluous really, destracted from the review of the two cars, but other than that very entertaining.

I think the star segment still has worth, the interview normally unearths some gems from Jeremy at the very least.

The classic car segment was truly funny, the small jokes from Hammond of course,excellent fun, but as always James May proves to be the archetypal straight man in an unlikely comedy duo and steals the show.

James May was the right guy to put with Madison Welch, Hammond would be flirting and Jeremy would probably put his hands some where he shouldnt. Only May would have a glamour model next him and talk about overdrive and concentrate on the race.

What is going on with ElMoronico. If you don’t like Top Gear then don’t watch it. Jeremy Clarkson has spent his whole life working with cars he knows what he is doing. He is funny and he created new Top Gear which is probably the best programme ever made.

I am a big fan of Top Gear I and I thought this episode was the best of the series. It is up there with the amphibious cars challenge episode. Absolutely amazing idea to put the dinosuars in. They were a bit random but why not? I must admit I thought the BMW was ugly but that is only my opinion. However the Germans are good engineers.

By the way when is the review of the Aston Martin One-77 coming?

And I swear that Jeremy just has a prejudice against Nissan (no Jezza, they’re not called Datsun any more, and haven’t been for some time)… he seems to find it very difficult to admit, that they might actually be quite good! Ah well, a minor couple of niggles on an otherwise good show. Well done!

Fantastic! What a Sunday that was. Lewis Hamilton back on winning form and another brilliant episode of Top Gear.
Such a shame that the last episode is on this series, but it sounds like it’ll be a good one.
Regarding the reasonably priced car, if it’s going to be changed, why not have the Caterham R500? Or the Ariel Atom? They’re reasonably priced are they not?

The dinosaur bit was irrelevent and OTT.
The classic rally was reasonably good. I suppose the co-drivers had to be added to make the show different from every other challenge, and it was just enough of a change. Star in a reasonably priced car was really good.

I LOVE ALL THE EPISODES MAN AND IT WAS SO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

The dinosaur metaphor was a little unusual but then when has a Clarkson metaphor ever made sense! Loved the shots of the dinosaurs on screen though, they were fantastic. Yer man off ACDC as he’s probably more commonly known as was an excellent driver but I am so looking forward to Jay Leno, he is one serious petrolhead.

This was an absolute brilliant episode! The classic race was one very cool thing. I’d really like to do this myself one day.
Brian Johnson was just a cool guy and and the Z4 vs. 370z was pretty good too!

great episode! Loved it but ditch the “Star” in a reasonably priced car. Wastes time that could be used for challenges or other PROPER car stuff. Usually they are just in to plug their new book or new film etc. They say they like cars but they dont really.

So fingers crossed that gets the shove for next series and we get more of the good stuff!

the fact that hammond got a dwarf mechanic was really funny!

TG is back on top form. Very funny (and informative) from start to finish.

Quite disappointed with the show it was no where near as good as some of the ones in the series. It was still funny in parts though, hope next weeks is alot better

last 1 on sunday, but on the bright side we only have to wait half the time (3months) as last time was 6 months, roll on the autumn.

I really liked the episode, not amazing, not entirely natural and uncontrived, but fun. I actually really like SIARPC – but follow the formula guys – reveal the stars previous cars and driving incidents – that’s what makes this section REALLY good. Don’t ditch it. It’s time to get a new car though – something cheap to run and maintain. An Evo perhaps.

I would have loved the rally to have become a full show.

I loved the show, some very near the knuckle remakes (which will upset some people) but I saw the funny side….. Love the show, love the series so far!!

i met Madison Welch yesterday in Leicestershire and she was so nice! she was so gorgeous! and she didnt have make-up on! :O she didnt have her boobs out which is what you would expect a glamour model to be like. i was pleasently surprised!
she was friendly, not dumb in the slightest, i can honestly say that she was acting in the show and id bet anything she was told to play on a dumb blonde role. i am now a huge fan of hers lol NICE ONE TOP GEAR!

The show was enjoyable. I thought the dinosaurs were kind of pointless and took away from the review of the vehicles.

Regarding the SIARPC, I’ll be honest and say that it is usually the portion of the show that I am least excited to see. Sometimes I have absolutely loved the SIARPC, other times not so much. I think that it is a segment worth keeping, but only doing intermittently, kind of how the Cool Wall is only done on some episodes. It is not a segment I want to see every show to be honest.

In my opinion the best all round episode of the series! A good mix of topics and nothing repetitive.

Nice to see a comparison between two cars (BMW and “Datsin”) for once.

Make the next series like that episode!!!

TG has no equals or competition, even my 3yr old son asks on Sunday to watch it.
Brian Johnson was pretty much a cert to do well in S – RPC as he did well in Sky 1 ‘The Race’ in 2006. Maybe next series of TG change the car or perhaps race the other way around the track.
The show is not always about ‘fast cars’ as this weeks ‘classic cars rally’ & last weeks ‘Ice race’ showed.
I also echo Jeremy’s offhand remarks about the state of our roads & road tax’s etc as since the J Ross incident the Beeb is treading too carefully.

that show started off good but da classic car was crap. we are in the modern days which means modern cars not classics. this series hasnt been as good as the past series. fa best series was da 1 with da caravan holiday and the limosines in. make series like dat in the future.

I will admit to being slightly stunned when I saw the young lady co-driving for James (lucky bugger). But no, this one was not the best top gear episode ever. Brian Johnson was in a league of his own however, never had I guessed he would be that close to taking first place on the board. The best episode ever in my opinion was the race in africa with Oliver, the beetle, the Lancia and the Merc. I love the really epic races, but also some of the guests that have taken the seat in the Lacetti. My favorite has to be Jay-Kay, let alone because he lives for being number one on that board, and because he has proven to be rather humorous.

Now, gief sunday and that last episode (although there should never be a last episode, I hate waiting for top gear… another 5 months of torture!) with the Cool Wall in it

Enjoyed all of the show last night even though I am not a car owner/driver. (You don’t need to be to enjoy the programme, believe it or not, although I suspect I would appreciate it more if I were.)

I don’t usually enjoy the “Star in Car” section – in fact I usually pop out into the kitchen and make myself a cuppa while it’s on, but I enjoyed last night’s guest, even though I have never heard an AC/DC track and therefore didn’t know who Brian Johnson was/is. I found his interview compelling stuff and the time he recorded was definitely something us oldies could cheer about. If you can guarantee people of Brian’s calibre each week, then I shall definitely start taking more notice.

Can’t see what all the fuss is about regarding that model but then, being female, I wouldn’t would I! And I’ve never heard of Jay Leno, either – is he a descendant of Dan?!

The show was absolutely fantastic, but why the dinosaurs????????? James probably had the best the co-driver, it’s a shame they couldn’t pick their own, Timo Rautiainen all the way!

That was really different, I liked it. I think this will be a love it or hate it episode, but it did feel quite unique to the rest of the series.

Best show of a weak season. Previous shows have tried to fit too much in and not covered each piece deeply enough, and there haven’t been enough proper road tests. The car tests, the SIARPC, and the challenge were all excellent last night.

Here’s hoping the next one is even better!

I loved the Rally Challenge, especially the co-drivers. I would love to do that myself in a Stratos or 911 or that old car Jeremy called “loser” to. Loved it. And the midget. lol. I’m surprised James didn’t want to buy everything, he loves classics, but he should have got the Spitfire.

Show 6 wrecked my opinion that the even numbered shows were duller than the odd numbered as last nifght’s show was great.
It did give me knightmares though. No, not the dinosauras (took out of Walking with Dinosars)but the thought Clarskson in Kate Humbles ‘hedge’.
Brian Johnson was fantastic (AC/DC still not as good as Motorhead though) and the big Classic Car film was great too.

brilliant and I can’t wait till the next show. Also, I quite like SRPC I think it’s worth it.

On SIARPC: I think there needs to be a balance between petrolheads and people of general fame being interviewed. A lot of women have stated that they started watching the show because of SIARPC, and kept watching it thereafter. When in the history of the world a womany typically find a car show intriguing enough to watch it more than once? No, SIARPC needs to stay in a weekly format, it just needs to have some proper petrolheads a couple of times a series.

On episode 6: Somehow I feel that I shouldn’t have too much of an opinion on this episode, that said, I really liked it. Great stuff, keep up the good work.

Ugh, this stupid laptop. “When in the history of the world would a woman” is what my previous comment should have read.

I’ve enjoyed all episodes thus far, but this one stands taller than most. And I’m not just saying that because the classic car rally was my idea (Gentlemen, I understand how wire transfers of cash can be misrouted, so I am not angry. Just resend it at your convenience.)

I am rather impressed with Jeremy’s “Spridget” also.

I canNOT wait to see Jay Leno taking a turn in the Lacetti.

Lastly, I’m not really sure of why good money was spent on getting dinosaurs onscreen, but one can’t have everything. (Wait! Given the 370Z is Japanese, why wasn’t it in RHD?)

In future try doing this format of just one big challenge every so often – it’s a nice change and works very well.

Another excellent show that could be considered a classic. Turns out you guys could have fun with any type of car, especially classic cars bought at auction, and keep us interested too. SIARPC was great this time, especially when Brian Johnson drove surprisingly fast. The news was indeed classic TG — seriously funny

Can’t wait for the last show of the series! I’d like to see what Jay Leno can do, and I hope the Cool Wall makes a return! Deducting from the series trailer in episode 1, I hope we all get to see the video of what Clarkson, Hammond, and May did with the airport vehicles too.

Two more things… I loved that your show used dinosaurs that didn’t come from special effects! And I liked the showing of the side-by-side comparison of the BMW Z4 and the Nissan 370Z.

I’m informed by my female that Top Gear is, on occasion, sexist. this must be resolved, i suggest by hiring that fit model. I realise she has long hair, breasts and knows very little about driving cars fast, but James May shares all of these attributes, and he’s allowed to work there. Just maybe she could sit next to the lads, in a bikini or something, to readdress this shameful state-of-affairs.

Loved that episode, I thought the classic car rally was good fun ( I think I would like to do it if I had a classic car). SIARPC normally only holds my attention if there is a true petrolhead on it, there has been too many people promoting books/films on it that you know are only there to get the publicity for themselves, so I think it should be on only every other episode to keep up a good standard. Can’t believe the series is over next week, can feel the withdrawl symptoms starting already I’m going to miss the boys!

I hate to say it but I think that dinosaur segment was a jump-the-shark moment–trust me on that one. I’m debating on whether the show is still watchable (for adults). As for the series as a whole I’d give it a C -; average, with nothing memorable about it; and I doubt the last show is going to markedly change anything, but it’s cool that you’ve finally gotten Jay over there.

Maybe the boys need to trim the top gear live schedule a bit and spend a little more time on planning the actual show that sired it

Sorry for the negative comments, but i just feel that more needs to be packed into the episode, rather than a few features.

May I just say what a delight it was to see an entire Top Gear programme focus on CARS for a change?!? BMW Z4 vs Nissan 370, then loads of great classic cars being bought and run for the sheer delight of driving them.

Jeremy Clarkson even made the comment at one point that it was ‘Quite nice to be a car person again.’ If only Top Gear could be re-dedicated to ‘car persons’ every week in future! Please, Top Gear team?

just a couple of point about m.o.t on Lanchester… as far as I know, it’s not an m.o.t failure for an inbalance on REAR brakes.. uneven application, yes, but not inbalance, and if the car was so dangerous because of the fluid leaks then a brake test should not be conducted…wonder if anyone from VOSA were watching….

Yes very good Brian Johnson is a true star, Madison added an extra bit of spice to the show, dinosaurs interesting but the review was very good, all round good motoring entertainment.

Favourite bit was the rally!

I like the Star in a RPC segment, but I’d like it better if it weren’t every week. Like the Cool Wall, I think things are better if they’re semi-regular rather than Every Week. Sometimes it seems like things are going really well, and then the flow is interrupted by the interview segment.

This was the best show of the season so far. Lovely roads in sunny Majorca and funny moments with the co-drivers and at the auctions back here. Also Brian Johnson was great. I didn’t realise the lead singer of one of my favourite bands was so down to earth, almost anonymous, AND he’s still cool at 62. Even his age was surprising! 62! I’d have guessed at 57 tops. What a b****y good driver as well, he was really smooth.

i just knew brian johnson would be on this season cos ac/dc have been on tour here recently, really glad [but not surprised] he did a fast lap cos i’m a massive ac/dc fan and i’m pleased that so many people enjoyed his appearence. it was also pleasing that he was on the best show thus far. i must admit to being disapointed with this series, it seems a bit jaded. perhaps they should keep tsitrpc segment for genuine car fans like brian, perhaps this might help keep it fresh, i hope so. good to here that jay leno is on next week [about time] they’ve definitely kept the best two guests ’till last. only one question, when is eric bana coming on?

Best episode so far really enjoyed every second of it… especially the glimpses of the beautiful Madison Welch with James May now how funny was that! Never watched one episode so many times in such a short space of time. Anyway keep up the good work guys and try and get beautiful girls like that on all the time (all the guys on here are thinking it really) just tops of a fantastic show especially when placed with James May haha

I’m not so sure about this episode. My sis and I were practically falling asleep on this one. We love the news segment and the classic car challenge started out encouraging enough. I love the way Jeremy kept bidding for the car when he didn’t really want it, and didn’t even know how much he paid for the tiny little car =)

And watching Jeremy sitting oh-so-lady-like in the car, with his legs folded sideways, it was completely hilarious.

But then when the actual challenge starts, it is just complete bore. And how the heck can they arrive at the competition TWO days late? What, the guys at the BBC forgot to read the fine print or something? OR they were too busy filling up forms for the health and safety guys they forgot the time?

Hammond’s ’shortchanged’ joke (intended or not) left me shortchanged.

And I felt the ending of the challenge just way too abrupt. It was just that constant speed track thingy, and that’s it?!?

But, good for James! He won the bet and even got to hug the gal. =)

The show was very nice British and controlled maybe a little bit to much for me. I do like a little of the pizazz of something going a little bit faster but I understand you guys got to keep everybody happy. Oh my good AC/DC you guys are right he is a lot under the radar but he is a damn good driver I was very pleasantly surprised. I do not really go crazy for the old cars maybe one or two of them have those sexy special shapes like an xk jaaaaagg from the 60-70 but the hot model definitely made all that enjoyable. I cant wait for the next episode I can’t even believe it its like a clash of the titans of the world car enthusiast Jay Lenno Vs Jeremy Clarkson I am like a little kit jumpin with joy.

I think TG as a whole is overdone the last couple of series. I mean in even in the ninth you still had sensible-ish test parts like the one on the brera-tt-rx8, as well as showpieces, but now its almost entirely show with cars rendered to a props role. I would rather have more of the cabrio testing on the shetlands, than another CGI dinasaur.

That said even the last two series, (which on the whole left me wanting) have their heights, like the Fiest roadtest, which was simply the best thing i ever saw on TV, or james may coping with finnish racing drivers, which was genuinely interesting – at least for me.

But for instance, even though i love a classic rally (even took part in one though much less glamorous than this mallorca piece) and i seriously enjoyed james rinding a shit of a citroen (without problems btw) with a gorgeous but rubish codriver, still, if this was a real motoring show, you would have left the funny codrivers out, and had more car-related action in it. Oh, and would have started with the grid, not two days later. So this piece, my exhibit A: it is fun to watch, but i, as a car enthusiast was left wanting.

SIARPC: i normally simply skip it, though people like siena miller, or brian johnson (and certainly mr leno next week) had me watching and enjoying it. But you know what? Better three plugs from car companies and people like Ken BLock, than one from a starlet knwoing nowt about cars, but still there to show a clip of their new movie. So if you ask me: drop it.

Can’t understand why they slagged off the 350 and 370 – great cars. just wish the germans could be as nice to the customer as the japs with the HP you get from an enginge at normal prices.

370 knocks out 320hp from a NA block yet the z4 requires 2 turbos to get a 3l engine to under 300hp! and charge you a fortune for it.

Anyhow – the funniest part of the show was when Hammond met his navigator and the side shot of them greeting – didn’t expect that.

This episode is scripted to look like ad-lib – it’s tooo obvious.

I just skimmed through the comments and I am left with the impression that I am the only one that did not like the show (and the series, as a matter of fact). I know that they can’t really come up with something entirely new and exciting but this season is sooooo totally predictable and directed and forced to be funny!!! I have got to agree with sashpe I’m afraid this season is so totally predictable and directed and forced to be funny!!! Biggest guy, Clarkson, in smallest car, midget smaller than Hammond, Clarkson ignoring everything and belting flat out regardless of potential damage to car, just like ripping the fuel tank off in the North Pole episode.. just too predictablew now, but going by the comments you are just aiming at the chavs who like big titted models now, how many comments JUST mention that???

Oh no! I Can’t believe it’s going to be the last one in the series! (bursts into tears) that means I’m going to have to put up with repeats on Dave again until the next series in Autumn . Oh well, I just hope that the next series will be as good as this one. So far it has not been too bad, I am undecided whether or not you should keep the SITRPC segment because some of the guests you have had on the show have either been boring or trying to sell something. But then again, Sunday night I genuinely did enjoy watching Brian Johnson going around the track in the Lacetti and talking to Jezza about his car collection etc. I am also a big fan of AC/DC as well. The cheap car challange you did this week was good too, I had to laugh when the glamour model said to James “Do you do anything to your hair?” to which he wittly replied “Well, I wash it”. PMSL, it made the stupid blonde bimbo look foolish. Poor Richard had foot in mouth disease when he kept referring to his co-pilot as a midget, and Clarky couldn’t understand what his was saying!
I also liked the cars you tested as well that Nissan 370Z was well tasty but I didn’t like the colour, and the BMW was pretty cool as well. I look forward to seeing the final episode fingers crossed it will be a good one.

In my opinion it was worth to see Brian Johnson on the show, but he is one of the very few people in the SIARPC segment that actually like cars. I’d say that this part of the show should only be made when there is a real petrolhead star available

Nearly all good comments TG, haven’t seen that in a long time so it seems you’re back! A couple still saying ‘it’s not a car show’ which, in truth, has been the case for a while now, but I can’t see how this weeks show could’ve been any more car-y – it was great!

And to those who found it ‘boring’… good – you must be doing something right TG! If they want jokes and explosions non-stop they can watch Nuts TV. For a creative, funny, clever car show, I’ll happily take TG when it’s on form. Please keep them like this one; no more guests who do nothing but plug rubbish and/or fail to talk about cars, no news which is just a string of awful jokes and no forced ‘challenges’.

Anyone can write a moderately funny script and act it badly, the skill you guys have is that you can get the best out of cars to make an entertaining show- that’s what sets you apart (at last you’ve got back to your core!).

I think this recent Top Gear episode was great, although the CGI dinosaurs were a tad OTT, however I do have a few thoughts to improve the programme, such as drawing it back towards the true petrol head with facts and figures about the engineering side of the car in more depth. This coupled with the current cocking about would result in an even better Top Gear! The Star in the Reasonably priced car would be better if petrol head guests such as Brian Johnson were on regularly.

Keep up the good work chaps, and why cant we have more episodes per series!!?? haha

Also, ignore the MMOC, they chose a shoddy car to follow and are just bitter about it…

I really like top gear, I’ve watched it since as long as I can remember, early 90’s maybe. Don’t screw it up. You’ve got some of the most talented auto journalists, with the best production team making the greatest car show “in the world”, so keep it good and give car fans more of what they want to see.

Seems like lots of people want Maddy as a presenter. That’d certainly get rid of any apparent sexism on the show. I’d like her as a presenter, though does she know anything about cars at all?

i loved the show and enjoyed the classics but i did notice that richards car failed its mot on a rear brake imbalance of 83% but being a tester my self i have to say that it was wrongly failed because a rear imbalance is not part of the test

Great episode, great guest though agree with others that SIARPC doesn’t need to happen every week and really should be more about quality and less about quantity – sometimes it is so cringe-worthy I’m forced to leave the room.

Thought the challenge was excellent – James and Madison the highlight – amusing and pleasing to see how the relationship developed. She seemed like a nice girl, she was funny, and she had an admirable stab at getting into the spirit of the thing – I think they made a very sweet couple!

A small point that also made the challenge much more enjoyable – no stupid and unnecessary crashing into each-other/opening doors on eachother’s cars. I know the cars often come off worse out of necessity and I guess if the only possible outcome to the challenge is the scrappy it doesn’t reeeeally matter, but really no car lover likes to see avoidable damage, and the world’s four wheeled population doesn’t need any more careless door opening than it already suffers at the hands of cretins in Sainsbury’s car park. Taking the cars home was a much better outcome – great work chaps, keep it up!

To be honest, I thought most of this series so far had been pretty rubbish. It felt like it was all squarely aimed at 12 year olds. Not an episode seemed to go by without some tediously predictable destruction of something, and the three car challenge format was so tired, it was painfully obvious how it had turned from a bit of novelty cocking about into a scripted destruction derby.

But this episode was better than the previous five episodes all put together. The classic car rally was absolutely hilarious, from the co-drivers to Clarkson racing a Mustang, and it made a refreshing change to see the presenters enthusing about cars rather than smashing up their cars, or licence-payer funded pianos, greenhouses, Vectras, Scenics, etc. The Z4/370Z test was nicely done too, better than many recent tests, but still lacked one small ingredient: real roads!

I was there, and the edited screening version did the whole day justice. Fantastically entertaining, we had a great laugh in the studio. Good one there. I didn’t need the dinos, but apart from that it felt like TG series 3 again.
Also, now that a member of AC/DC has admitted to having a Phantom, I believe the deal, according to Hammond, was that it moves up the Wall to “Cool.”

Remembering the “taster” of ep.1,whose was that coffin? Did Mrs.STIG help to carry it?(i sure hope not) Where s the Scirocco? and will we finally see the Audi R-8 V-10? AND Jay Leno? sounds like a recipe for a true CLASSIC episode is coming up.

Loved the show as usual, but was really disappointed I couldn’t be there live this Wends. I traveled to London all the way from Miami on the chance that the Applause Store might give me my tickets I had requested about a 6 months ago, but Nothing! =0( I know it’s not TopGear’s fault… and I will still be a devoted fan like I have been since 03′

Madison and James should get together! She acted pretty stupid though. My fave quote from her and James was: “Why don’t they speak English?”

My favourite episode of the series so far. I really liked the dinosaurs – the way you edit the show is fantastic! I liked Jezza creeping about like Bill Oddie… xD

This was the best show ive seen. i really hope the last one will be as good. I agree that i would like to see more of Madison Welch on TG, shes a natural on TV, she does seem to know about cars and not to mention she is amazingly gorgeous! Looking forward to Jay Leno on the last show although i do wish it wouldn’t end so soon!

The BBC’s got rid of all middle-aged female presenters. Time for some of the fellas to go now, I think, and let’s start with Clarkson and May. Madison Welch can replace them and give the show an instant (non-dinosaur!) female-friendly makeover.

For those that “need” to know… They played Two hendrix songs. The Burning of the Midnight Lamp and I think it was If Six was Nine, or Axis: Bold as Love

Just rechecked it.. No idea what song they played for the 370 clip. Can’t remember where I heard the Hendrix in the episode. Guess I’ll have watch it again.

I think that Star in a Reasonably Priced car should be axed now, All the decent celebs don’t come on so you spend 10 minutes listening to someone you’ve never heard of and JC pretending to be interested.

I think TG should spend licence payers’ money on road tests not celebrities.

For those of us Yanks who unfortunately have to torrent this show to get our fix, it has been a wild ride. I loved that the man behind one of the best bands of all time placed right behind Jay Kay (who rightfully belongs there)… but I wonder if Jay Elle (Leno) will knock the man off his perch. I am really looking forward to this Sunday, though- because Leno is the closest thing we have to a Stig, Clarkson and May all in one.

I would pay money to see them race each other- any takers?

i liked maddy too! she is a petrol head, she is on myspace and on her profile it says about how she hates the new style jags and prefers classic amercan cars. id love to see her back on the show as a regular. cant believe its the last show of the series though tomorrow you should make more shows in a series,im sure there have been loads more in the past i like SIARPC but maybe cut it down a little bit?

Very good one exeptt 2 little points: They Guys werent ambious enough int the callange (you never had the feeling the really wanted 2 winnor at the auction nor in the callaange and the copilets were rubisch).
And second why did u lie about the outcomming of the challange it was Jeremy who won (31.) und no James (34.). Would have been exactli as funny but far more autentic and would not have destroied tha last bit of hope the there isn’t everithing scriptet in the challanges.

Why are people displeased by this series? It’s what Top Gear is about, Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow, cocking about in Cars and reviewing cars. If you dont like it go watch the heathen’s that are fifth gear and stop complaining.

I enjoyed this season, but it’s showing its age slightly in my opinion. But I still enjoyed it. This ep was epic and a great end to a good series of a great show.

This ep was like all the other eps really. Quite funny. Good but not great overall, just like the series (In my opinion)

btw, Leno is a huge car fan and has a great online car show if anyone wants to check it out. Obviously it’s not very much like top gear (or any tv program for that matter), it’s just something he does for fun.
