You will remember that we announced a new US version of your favourite show earlier this year. Well, here’s some more news: the first glimpse of America’s very own Top Gear has been released.
And here it is:
We’ve been chatting to the three presenters in the past few weeks – Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust and Rutledge Wood – so we’ll bring you more news as we get it. In the meantime, if you’ve got any questions fire them into the handy space below and we’ll do our best to get them answered.

insult american cars, go on. however, our cars may be a touch weak (save the viper, ford gt, and the new cadillac), but what british car maker (i don’t mean silly, tiny, high end shops such as the noble) is worth a grain of salt? moving on, yes, the UK Top Gear is leaps above the US version; however, credit is due where need be. The US version is not that bad. In fact i would say the US version is well ahead of the UK version during its infancy.
imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…don’t be such a provincial mind and discount the new show before it has even had a chance to grow.

I didn’t think it was that bad….I wanted to hate it with a passion, but the Viper V Cobra Helicopter kept me interested in the first episode. It will never live upto the UK version as the original is always going to be the best. Maybe look at changing 1 or 2 presenters like the first UK season , Keep Foust, he’s got better since the Stupid Supercar Program on Speed Channel! Maybe Pastrana and Block as co hosts!!!
Oh and the track sucks……Use the Airfield where Block did Gymkhana 1!! Have a good day Peeps!

Being from Georgia in the USA i have to say our Top Gear is terrible. Myself and my buddies could make a better show than they make. There is none of the chemistry the UK blokes have, and they aren’t nearly as fun to watch. I am ashamed our show. I have to appologize to my Brit brothers and sisters for making a show like this. The UK Top Gear is my favorite show to watch, they are witty, funny, have great chemistry together, and are a joy to watch. Keep it up yall! Im a die hard UK TG head and will always be one.

As you can guess by my name i too am American and honestly Top Gear US isnt anywhere near shadow of its predecessor. Its was a bad idea that happened to get turned into a bad show. I would on the other hand LOVE to see a Top Gear UK vs Top Gear US. Clarkson, Hamster and Slow would utterly destroy those guys in the most hilarious ways.

Is Top Gear USA a means of extracting revenge for the loss of the American Revolution? Aren’t we allies now? What deep seeded resentment has arisen to torture us?

Love UK top gear it works USA Top Gear just doesn’t. The best way to explain it is simple there was only ONE Marilyn Monroe anyone who tries to be like Marilyn Monroe will always be a cheap plastic copy .. there is only one REAL top gear ….why have the cheap copy when you can have the origanal??

The US version blows! One of the best things of Top Gear UK is the humor. The 3 host from the US version are boring, and the challenges seemed very contrived.

Top Gear US is really a well done joke by TG UK, i mean come on, it has to be a joke, right? How can a show so bad not be a joke? It’s one of those jokes that bombs soooo bad that its funny. It’s like a car wreck at a Nascar race – you know its awful but you got to look, then lift your shoulders to your head, scrunch your face and say, ‘Wow that was bad.’ The next episode should reveal the joke and the fat kid on Top Gear US will pull his face off and its really Jeremy, the geeky rich snob racer boy will pull his mask off revealing Richard, and the New Yorker to take his leather jacket that’s hiding James in his purple striped rugby shirt. That show should be titled ‘Bizzaro World Top Gear’.

Coming from yet another American, I feel that the US version of the show is beyond terrible, it’s so horrible that words cannot describe it.
It’s too rednecky in my opinion, and that’s why I prefer the UK version, where normal people present the show.

Oh and by the way, I find it ironic that the video was taken down due to a copyright claim by A&E.

I am an AVID watcher of Top Gear BBC, on top of that I am an owner of a 2011 Challenger 392! Today I decided to watch Top Gear on History Ch only because the Challenger was on. Never again! Very dissapointed with the weak hosting. And Rut getting scared when NASCAR drivers show up…Really Dude! Where are your balls!
Top Gear USA is Worse than REALITY TV!!!!

I have not seen it yet, but I’d rather get the UK version to see the more exotic cars then the states have to offer. I am American, but feel our car makers do limit its abilities on making something mindblowingly fast and hot looking like a Veyron.

I have been a true fan of Top Gear BBC for many years and was hopeful when I saw that there was going to be a US version. I have to say I didn’t think it was possible to take a great concept like Top Gear and screw it up so bad. A root canal and a good back waxing would be much more pleasant than an hour watching the US Top Gear.

Another US watcher of the Beeb’s brilliant show. I was hopeful when the US version came out and I gave it a chance – I watched 3 episodes. Each was worse than the last. None of the hosts work. There is no chemistry there at all. They should have cast people with at least a hint of comedic talent, and preferably someone that is known by more than their immediate family. The British version works because of Ron, Jeremy, and Richard’s chemistry and camaraderie. Having good producers that like to torture them doesn’t hurt either.

I don’t know who those grouchy people are, but this USA show I have been laughing out loud for days!!!! The guys, what they do, is so funny, I want to be
the token girl on the team!! I love fast cars, I nowhave a Porsche Turbo and
a Cayenne, but I’ve driven most all cars, and bombs/junkers, that looks like so much fun, call me a hillbilly.
All those people need to lighten up and don’t sweat the small stuff!!!!
Love you guys, j xoxo

This show is pretty bad. There’s some good moments, but it’s just not there. Maybe after a few more seasons, it’ll be a match for the UK greatness, but I’m not holding my breath. Rutledge and Tanner aren’t too bad, but Adam is just annoying. He’s probably the least funny comedian out there. Tanner can drive, and Rutledge worked on and around cars his whole life, but Adam is just your typical New Yorker: loud and useless. (To the millions of NYC dwellers, I apologize.) And their unwillingness to bash a US auto maker just pisses me off, and I’m American. “Let’s decide what’s the best Muscle Car. Uh… they all tie.” No. They don’t.
