Top Gear on 60 Minutes: preview

I like the rover SD1 3500 series, i know its an old car and its off the road now, but its got tonnes of horsepower and i love its three hundred and fifty thousand cc engine. big v8 engine in there boys and i,d like to see more of them on the top gear show. so what if the suspension was from the 1950,s. sd1,s are cool. I reckon jezza should put a picture of the rover sd1 on the cool wall. or in that little fridge. cheerio.

haha! My 1.9 Diesel Astra generates 215 with chipped ECU and upgraded exhaust! Only 250BHP with a V8. hmm. Can you afford to run one in the UK – hardly!

“the Stig is the fourth member of the Top Gear crew … and his image helps promote the show around the globe…” Proof positive that even the Americans realised Ben’s contributions were significant and good! Come on BBC, grow some balls and get Ben Collins back in his white suit. There really is only one Stig and that’s forever Ben Collins! After SEVEN loyal years, he deserves a share of the limelight the rest of the team bask in! Or is the BBC really THAT mean and greedy?

Only one negative: 15 min. segment is just not enough time to cover the awesomeness that is TG!

I’m so disappointed that we over here in america have to make our own version of Top Gear…. I feel that it is just going to be a lot of rip offs from the real Top Gear with guys that just aren’t as funny…. I don’t see why we can’t just take the episodes that jeremy, james and richard and in and reair them here…. so disappointed…

There are legendary bikes, fat bikes,skinny bikes, vintage,modified, u name it theyre as diverse as cars and probably as many if you count all the scooters in asia and europe. As a US citizen, mid-age grandma, I discovered Top Gear about 2 years ago and have spread the word amongst my family, (5 sons) and freinds. I was absolutely thrilled to see it featured on 60 Minutes because it’s surprising to find that a lot of Over-The-Pond dwellers hadn’t heard of TG. Now that 3 American dudes are copying the show on the History Channel, we get to compare. And guess what? They don’t come close. The BBC guys keep me laughing almost out of my chair, they have much more personality, and the BBC’s cars rule. Still, I’ll watch both and hope the American version gets up to speed on the cool meter.

me and my dad absalutley love top gear, we watch it every time it is on tv. including go! and even if i do miss one of the shows i emedietly go online to watch it!

and when i grow up i want to be a mechanic on cars, can anyone give me a heads up on how to practice and some good tips? please

We upgraded to WSS v3 and when we do a search, no icons are showing up
next to the results. The results still work but the images to the
left do not show up. I noticed in the html of the search results page
that the img src tag for the icon is empty (“”). See the source below
as an example of the returned html.
Our test environment does not have any issues. Also, I have verified
that the necessary images are in _layouts/images. Finally, I was able
to open up one of the images such as _layouts/images/STS_List1 6.gif
directly in the address bar. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
This looks really bad to the end user.

Can you confirm that you are only not seeing icons when doing a search -
i.e. that icons for the same documents are showing up when you access a
View of a document library.

Yes, I can see the same icons when going to document libraries. It is
just when I do a search that the icons do not show up. This includes
binary icons like the Word or Excel icon as well as SharePoint icons
for lists, etc.

This same exact thing is happening in our instance of MOSS. It also
seems to be intermittent. I can do a search, get the icons, then
refresh my screen and have them show all of a sudden. Its a very
strange issue.

Hello there
I’m having a similar problem. Cleaned up dotnet 2, 3 repaired installation
of portal server 2007 and still get events 1309 in the logs (warnings). It
says it cannot load the C++ module.
I have Icons but hitting refresh lets them disappear as if the server cannot
provide them. All links in Moss 2007 work fine just the screen seems like
garbage.
Anyone any clues?

Do you, or anyone else, know if this problem is resolved in SP1.
I am experiencing this in MOSS 2007 std.
The site in the default zone is ok, but the same site in the extranet zone
(with LDAP authentication) has this problem.

We are using WSS and just installed the latest version 12.0.0.6219
Still no icons the src=”", the answer to SP1 would be no.

Today I removed the “pdf” entry in DOCICON.XML and the icons reappeared but
of course no pdf icons. I changed the name of the entry and image file to
pdf16.gif and all worked. Except I’m not getting the folder icon just the
generic ie icon.

I had the same problem. It turned out that I made a mistake when I added the
PDF icon entry and ended up with duplicate entries for the same file type.
After removing the duplicate entry and doing an IISreset, icons are now
displayed correctly in the search results page.

We also have the same issue in terms of icons not showing in the search
results. This was working yesterday which included the .pdf ifilters.
Something happened to DNS last night and the infra bods had to put SharePoint
url’s nack in. Search didn’t come back at first, so I reset the search and
recrawled. Which brought back the results but no icons. I tried stopping
and restarting various services but no joy. I haven’t tried taking out the
.pdf entry out of DOCICON.XML yet but to be honest I don’t think that will
solve it…
Has anyone got any other ideas before I start tampering with the above file…

Thankfully we have two environments running. One was working and the other
not. So we managed to do a like for like on the docicon.xml file and visually
we couldn’t see any errors. So we renamed the one that was not working and
took a copy of the one that was working. Restarted IIS and bingo all is
well. Somehow this file got corrupted. Question is how did it get
corrupted???
