Much as we’re sure you thoroughly enjoy our daily, endless repeats on Dave, there comes a time in every Top Gear fan’s life when he craves something new.

And with series 17 in the UK long over, and the three presenters currently busy in India filming our Christmas special, not a lot will emerge from our London HQ for a while.

But good news! From 7pm on October 14 in the UK, we’re going to be showing the entire first season of of Top Gear USA from our friends in the colonies: Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust. Oh, and American Stig, of course.

Regular TopGear.commers will know all about the show – aired in the US on the History Channel – but if you’re new to the three guys then there’s a handy trailer below to get you up to speed.

Let us know what you think as always, and remember the date of the first show: October 14, 7pm, on BBC three.

Season 1 wasn’t wonderful I’ll admit. And they dont have the chemistry that James, Richard, and Jeremy do yet. The show was vastly improved in season 2. Even season 1 had moments that felt like Top Gear.

Before you knock it too much just look at old episodes of the original series. There was a healthly level of suck in many of those as well.

I live in America and I have tried to sit through a full episode of Top Gear USA and couldn’t do it. I guess I’m just use to watching Hammond, Clarkson and May present that these guys seem way too boring and bland.

It seems that the UK show actually works at informing people about cars, although its mostly three grown men driving around in cars most of us will never own. There are times however, when they actually test cars that most people could afford. The US version, unfortunately, is just three guys, one who is a professional driver, one who has done work with NASCAR and one, well I am not sure what he knows about cars, doing their best to destroy those cars. I am not sure which American audience they are going after, but is not me. The only reason to watch, for me, is Tanner’s driving. Even that, leaves much to be desired. This show has a long way to go to get to the UK Top Gear, which, if I am correct, started out as a serious show about testing cars.

Top Gear USA is the absolute worst piece of garbage that could be put on television. It only survived because of the Top Gear name and should be quickly erased from all historical accounts.

Top Gear Australia… on the other hand, is not so bad. If it wasn’t for the completely socialist rhetoric they spew at the end of each show, it would be a fine substitution while -the one and only- Top Gear is on hiatus.

Please revoke all rights Top Gear USA has to use the “Top Gear” name immediately.

Sorry Chaps. us Americans don’t like TGUSA either.

Why on earth would they try to broadcast TopGear USA in Britain. If people in the United States have a great disliking to it what makes them think it that it would appeal to the home audience of the original and frankly the best Top Gear series. It is a bit of a daft move if you ask me.

Tanner Foust is a great driver don’t me wrong. I enjoyed watching him tear it up on the rally and drift circuits, but he has a terrible TV personality. His other shows on speed channel were lacking as well. The other bumbling idiots are well…Idiots. They did a poor job of casting that one.

gotta agree with most of the comments on here. I think the the USA and Australia are trying to be to much like the uk and come accross as try hards. I want to know what a car can do and the reason the car is so cool. Not just a couple of yanks bush bashing a few cars. Tanner is the only reason I would watch it again but even he isnt enough to watch a whole episode. The series that Clarkson and the boys went to the states was awsome so im not sure as to the reason the yanks cant do it themselfs. The show needs to be the same but different. Ill stick to Clarkson and the real top gear crew.

Just watched the episode where Routlidge tests the 4 door Porche. He says it does 188mph but shot of dash shows the speedometer goes to 225mph.
Do you think he dared to accuse the Germans of lying? You guessed it!

I know a lot of comments saying how crap it is and I was dubious but I’ve just watched the entire series 1 and it’s great, I love it. OK it takes a while to get into but I am sure when the new format of Top Gear came out about a decade ago everybody diss it as well. Just give it a chance for crying out loud! Also, Jeremy, james and Hammond is not going to be around forever and we need young blood to take over so now is the best time to bleed in new bloods and these 3 maybe the answer. Carry on the good work guys and look forward to the 2nd series ;-)

Am I the only one who noticed how bad the American Top Gear was? It was horrible. They should burn the cable network that produced it to the ground.

Check out the season 2 of TG USA, It’s actually better & fresher than the uk version, and I’m british!

Oh Dear….. I’m a German living in the UK having watched the UK Top Gear extensively despite their occasional digs on the Germans. I think the main difference is that the UK version actually is funny and the american version just isn’t. Bottom line is that you can’t just take a format that is hugely based on the characters of 3 talented individuals and repalce it with 3 different guys and expect it to be equally funny. Sorry exceptionally bad…

Oh dear…. ,

Fair enough, if the BBC need the extra cash – sell the format whatever… But seriously…. Id rather they filled air-time hours with attenborough than that appaling attempt at entertainment… Hell Id settle for that awful snog marry avoid programme – at least they don’t use the words “Awsome!, Great! and Super Siked” in every other sentence. I mean come on!?!!

Watching Top Gear US in the background right now and I have to say it’s absolute rubbish. There’s next to no information on the cars they’re using in their challenge and the humor falls flat in the worst kind of way.

On top of that the whole episode revolves around a single theme and challenges with nothing to break it up and keep things interesting.

Epic tryhard fail.
