Well, there you have it. Three fantastic mid-engined supercars, three impressive times around Imola, and three very happy Top Gear presenters indeed. We hope you enjoyed the first show of our new series – let us know your thoughts and theories in the handy space below as always.
But before you put finger to key, our now traditional post-show glimpse behind the scenes at filming. And it’s a particular treat for all fans of our boss Andy this week, as he gives a long-requested update on the status of his venerable lucky pants.
We do recommend that you finish your dinner before watching:
See you all next week as always for added pictures and video from the show, including more from SIARPC will.i.am…

What do you think?

@ jaffamonkey really? I totally thought Clarkson was joking. But this guy has he been driving somewhere else? Like I said he looks so damn familiar. Anyways cool name for a Lambo test driver.

The Mclaren and Noble were clearly the best as they are the only one’s that are british.

@max venturi? Not as far as I’m aware. His real name is Massimiliano Venturi and he’s been at Lamborghini for a while. He used to be a Lamborghini driving academy instructor.

If the Aventador is a hypercar, then the McLaren and Noble supercars did pretty well against it.

One irritation about your show (ignoring your guest, the muted audience, the guy who yells yay so the audience knows when to clap)…
His name was Roland Ratzenberger. He also died at Imola in 1994.

Really enjoyed that first episode, I didn’t even mind the whole ‘English’ thing Clarkson did under the guise of Britain (the chrimbo special was cringe worthy & not in a funny way) & I expect it to get progressively worse as the 2014 independence vote draws nearer but I beg you Top Gear do not go down the whole army route in this series, you’ve made your point. over & over again.
Sorry, I just had to say that.
I honestly can’t wait until Sunday if the first episode was anything to go by

What is a HYPERCAR? … creates an interesting debate that can go long into the night… This is it in a nut shell as i see it… In terms of sheer performance and felling take the Mclaren F1 as the base line. That should give you an idea. Anything above this standard is a hypercar. Tough club to be in is it not?. Present hypercars can be counted on your right hand. The Lamborghini Aventador is an extra special supercar. It slots between a supercar and hypercar and so does the Noble. Porche 911 GTs / 458 / McLaren are bread and butter supercars
