Another quick glimpse behind-the-scenes at Sunday’s show, and this time it’s bonus footage of the fastest ever man around our Top Gear track.
After he harried the C-Apostrophe-D to speeds never before recorded, Matt LeBlanc accompanied The Stig – in the unusual position of passenger – on a few hot laps around Dunsfold in McLaren’s rather excellent new MP4-12C.
We’re all off back to the track tomorrow to film episode three, so look out for more behind-the-scenes action later in the week. See you then…

What do you think?

What was Matt’s Lap-time? Was it close to the Stig’s?

That is a face of concentration… Is the MP4-12C really not that much fun? It pains me to say I think he’d be smiling more in a 458, and I feel dirty just saying that. Come on Mclaren, add a bit of quirkyness to the car! You’ve already changed it based on a certain magazine’s suggestions already!

Admire might be a strong word, but except for Lost in Space, pretty much everything he did was gold. Never knew he was a petrol head untill I watched this episode, and now I respect him even more.

anyone else notice how the “stig” looks noticably Chris Goodwin-esque in the footage? certainly doesn’t appear to be the stig we normally see around the track…

@Mercedes SLS AMG I think yesin93 meant the lap in the McLaren, not in the Kia. If they ever recorded this lap.

Whatever happened to MP4-12A and MP4-12B? Were they complete failures?

Eating humble pie here. MLB really is a decent driver, so his siarpc time is a lot more believable now. @The_GTS: you think he actually ever smiles? I think if you drive a 458 and you have time to smile, you’re not trying hard enough. Having said that, the McL does look very dull for the money. You can’t see them making a convertible because customers asked for it. Does not happen.

Matt is secretly exactly like Joey… He seems to be too cold and boring sometimes because it has to pretend so hard he is not.

does the stig actually talk to the stars? like when he teaches them?
) anyway Top Gear is just utterly the best show in this planet. im always praying for the trio and the staff’s health and safety, so the show could go on forever. (well not really. i know it’s impossible. but at least till the time i can go there and join the audience)
