Damian Lewis is coming to Top Gear

damianDamian Lewis might have thought winning a Golden Globe for his role as Sergeant Nick Brody was the highlight of his career. But he’s wrong.

Because here, today, especially for you TopGear.commers, we can confirm that the star of epic TV series Homeland will be the very first guest on the brand new series of Top Gear as our Star in a Reasonably Priced Car!

Clearly, this is now Mr Lewis’ career highlight; a career that has seen him in act in rather popular television series such as Band of Brothers and The Foryste Saga, as well as a film called The Sweeney (featuring a rather special car chase).

Anyway, you should already know that Jeremy, Richard, James and a thing called The Stig are due to return to BBC Two at 8pm on January 27. And they’ll be bringing an entire wheelbarrow’s worth of excitement to your telly screens, including Jeremy’s microcar, a rallying Bentley GT, and of course, track tests of some of the hottest supercars around, including the Pagani Huayra.

Check out our exclusive preview here, and let us know which bit you’re most looking forward to in the handy space below.

I read “And they’ll be bringing an entire wheelbarrow’s worth of excitement to your telly screens” as “And they’ll be bringing an entire wheelbarrow’s worth of excrement to your telly screens” – do hope that wasn’t a premonition!

how about Victoria Penleton, as she said in the
past she loved to be in a room with Clarkson to
give him a piece off her mind on his views on cycling.

better wait a while, thinking about it as that Texan
Cyclist has damaged cycling image so not the right
time now.

shame as Mrs Penleton, is very nice to look at
and a great champion.

Chris Barrie (Rimmer from Red Dwarf) would be a great SIARPC, as he’s one of those select few celebrities that are also MASSIVE petrolheads.
I’d also love to see a few Olympians doing it, I think Andy Murray would’ve been up for it if he wasn’t in Australia at the moment.
Other than that, perhaps some comedians that haven’t done it before like Peter Kay, Phil Jupitus or Rhod Gilbert.
Looking forward to the new series!
