Ever seen a Golden Globe winner plough a field? Us neither, but for your delectation, here’s some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Damian Lewis cultivating the soil around our test track, and getting to grips with the fiendishly icy conditions.
OK, so Damian’s effort wasn’t what you’d call the fastest lap we’ve ever seen. Actually, it is what you’d call the slowest. But it ranks among the most entertaining in Top Gear history (honourable mention – Michael Gambon), so brim your eyes with even more sidewaysness with the video below.

A s a life long, Liverpool fan it great
to see Diaman Lewis brave enough to
do this.
Is going to, get so much stick from Family
and friends but he was driving in snow.

That was the most epic lap I can remember seeing. It looked like such brilliant fun and great television. I would love to see Lady Gaga do this, and also a girl. We haven’t had one for a while.

Hey been a Top Gear fan and yes for Winter driving pretty good lap but on ice and snow you have to do it in Canada.

If a Canadian was in that car, you would have been totally shocked by their behaviour! Most of the track would have been driven sideways!
But considering Damian Lewis is unaccustomed to this type of condition, I still congratulate him on his valiant efforts.

I don’t know what’s funnier, his driving or the real accent. I’ve never actually heard him speak with anything other than an American accent. Are we sure he’s not “acting” British?

Why didnt they clean the track for him? Top gear def is rich enough to clear the track from snow with specific machinery.
I hope Lewis gets a 2nd chance in the future to drive in try lap.
