Author Profile: James May

James May joined the car industry in the early '80s as a magazine sub-editor and has since written for several automotive and needle craft publications. He’s had various broadcasting roles, including Top of the Pops, and joined the current incarnation of Top Gear in 2006. He is known as Captain Sloe due to his homebrew gin distillery. In his spare time, James also enjoys flying light aircraft and collecting big British-made piles of oil seeping rust which he calls 'motorcycles'.
