In case you haven’t heard, Top Gear is back this Sunday night in its usual 8pm slot on BBC2. And we’ll be there for the next six weeks, pending an outbreak of snooker or some kind of choir singing competition.
So there you have it. Top Gear is finally back on the nation’s screens: three undeniably great cars, two new haircuts, one Oscar-winning film director and a minor conflagration. Hopeless gifts were exchanged, Stigs were mown down in hails of semi-automatic gunfire, fuses were blown – a nice gentle introduction to the festive season ahead…

You may have read some scant details about our festive special in the papers this week. We can confirm their veracity. This Boxing Day Jeremy, Richard and James will be attempting their toughest task yet: passing themselves off as ‘three wise men’ while recreating that famous journey following a star to Bethlehem.
