TG Live: it’s a wrap

The Mole can hardly believe it, but the Top Gear world tour has come to an end. What started in London finished after a textbook performance in Hong Kong on Sunday, with 67 shows successfully completed in front of nearly 250,000 people.

TG Live: Day 9

The Mole spent yesterday time travelling with the presenters; breakfast in New Zealand, lunch in Australia waiting for a connecting flight, then dinner in Hong Kong. It’s moments like that which make TGL feel like a rock and roll tour, couple that with a deluge of sunseeker powerboats and black helicopters whisking the three presenters [...]

TG Live: Day Eight

The producers of Top Gear love to give the presenters a challenge, and the show in New Zealand was no different. A luminous green Ultima GTR rumbled into the show at the end of the Cool Wall, and Greg Murphy was challenged by Jezza to beat the urban speed limit of 50kph indoors.

TG Live: Day Five

The Top Gear presenters seem to be enjoying Australia, as The Mole watched them board a giant speed boat, which whisked them off to the show in the blazing 45 degree heat of Sydney Harbour. Being upside down hasn’t blunted their wits any, as they continue to keep the huge crowds in hysterics, with a [...]

TG Live: Day Four

The only problem with Australia as far as The Mole can tell, is that it is bloody far away from South Africa. 11 hours spent hiding in the cargo hold of the Top Gear Live 747 was almost too much to bear, but the first sight of the Sydney Opera House (albeit peeking through the [...]

TG Live: Day Three

Onwards with the weekend, and by and large the show is running without any major hitches. Car Football (England Vs South Africa) is proving especially popular with the local audience whose constant chanting (and boo’ing) is driving the two teams to ever further daring deeds.
