The Mole can hardly believe it, but the Top Gear world tour has come to an end. What started in London finished after a textbook performance in Hong Kong on Sunday, with 67 shows successfully completed in front of nearly 250,000 people.

The Mole spent yesterday time travelling with the presenters; breakfast in New Zealand, lunch in Australia waiting for a connecting flight, then dinner in Hong Kong. It’s moments like that which make TGL feel like a rock and roll tour, couple that with a deluge of sunseeker powerboats and black helicopters whisking the three presenters [...]

The producers of Top Gear love to give the presenters a challenge, and the show in New Zealand was no different. A luminous green Ultima GTR rumbled into the show at the end of the Cool Wall, and Greg Murphy was challenged by Jezza to beat the urban speed limit of 50kph indoors.
Its opening night in Aukland, New Zealand and the usual panic ensues amongst the crew as they do their best to lay sufficient rose petals before the gathering pace of the three presenters. Our local presenter, Greg Murphy, has spent a huge amount of time out with the boys:

This week The Mole is learning about industrial strength glue… It seems in preparation for Top Gear Live arriving in Auckland, the locals have torn up all the carpet that has sat comfortably for 20 years on the floor of the ABS Showground, to helpfully make way for our sliding supercars.

The Top Gear presenters seem to be enjoying Australia, as The Mole watched them board a giant speed boat, which whisked them off to the show in the blazing 45 degree heat of Sydney Harbour. Onwards with the weekend, and by and large the show is running without any major hitches. Car Football (England Vs South Africa) is proving especially popular with the local audience whose constant chanting (and boo’ing) is driving the two teams to ever further daring deeds.
